Most problems with parasites come from home-prepared sushi.
And like most other things in life, it's fine in moderation (plus, it's so friggin' expensive that moderation isn't difficult to adhere to when it comes to sushi).

Most of the food you buy today comes with the government approved levels of bug, fecal material, dirt, and inorganic materials.

Eat away. Just be mindful that rice is a carbohydrate food. Too much of it can expand your waistline.
You needn't worry about professionally prepared sushi, with regard to parasites. The tuna may have a bit of a high level of mercury, but you won't eat just tuna.
Watch your wallet, though...

As long as the fish comes from a reputable fish monger, you should be fine. The risk of toxins from bacteria, parasites, or mercury is remote. Eat up! "Fish make you live longer!"

Dirtboy is right.
Also note that nutritionists (dang them) now have this idea that there are higher risks due to mercury in seafood than previously believed so that the portion is no more than 2 servings of seafood per week. This doesn't mean two pieces of sushi, but rather the equivalent of two normal servings of fish, which I think is supposed to be about 3 or 4 ounces (stingy, aren't they?)

Sushi can have 150 ppm of rat droppings. If it tests out at 90 ppm, they add 60 ppm more.

There's just something about lifting rice wrapped in seaweed to your mouth and seeing a piece of tentacle flop out.
