Given the following features, where are the best communities in the US for conservatives?
Sorry - just got too conditioned by the MSM to remember where I was. You certainly don't fit the BB Mountain profile.
Anyway, my kid thinks your dog is adorable (and no complaints about the owner either).
Enjoy.
My friends, I want you to know how much I appreciate your taking time to share your thoughts with me on this matter. I have been at a loss where to start and, thanks to you, I have some good ideas how to proceed now. If you have any other thoughts you think I should consider, please share them, because I'll be ckecking this thread for a while.
Again, thank you.
Take a ruler and draw a line from Abilene north to the Texas/Oklahoma border. Now draw a line west from Abilene to the Texas/New Mexico border. Any place north and/or west of the lines you drew is quite suitable. Open AND not too far (less than a day drive) from the mountains. Also VERY conservative.
All of these states have sites where you can get all sorts of information
also if you change your state in your FR profile you can post on another state board and ask those who live in those states
I did that before I took my road trip
Bonneville Pass Trail, Brooks Lake, WY
thanks, I do too!
"Also VERY conservative."
I thought that my hometown was conservative until I moved to Lubbock. It is arguably the most (if not, then one of the most) conservative college town in the US.
It is good to see that you continue your PR work! :-)
OOPS! Kalispel is WEST of Gacier.
No its not an eagle but a smudge on the print
However I did see bald eagles in Wyoming (post#84)
In addition I saw 2 golden eagles when at Brooks Lake
One swooped down from the sky into the lake and flew away with a large fish in its talon!
Just curious... are you trying to escape Cacafornia too?
Don't know where you get your info from but North Western Montana is solid red, except for the Indian reservations, tiny areas of blue. While there are some pockets that are very liberal (Whitefish), NW Montana continues to be a conservative stronghold.
It was named the second most conservative city in the country next to Provo, Utah. And, there's no way any city could ever beat Provo, Utah!
there are smaller cities around, some nice, some with more poverty as there is some unemployment in that area
Huge Indian reservation to the east of Glacier and unfortuntely there is much poverty on the reservations
Welcome! I like to watch eagles. There is one (or it may be a family) not far from me so I see them once in awhile. Not bad for this area.
Kalispell was nice and your right, huge Indian reservation to the east and unfortuntely there is much poverty
Also, the students in the colleges here are mostly conservative or, at least, lean in that direction.
Sure, we have our fair share of "Coffee House Liberals", but they are mocked more often than not.
apackof2, thanks for the insights and especially the graphics which are worth a thousand words. My problem has been zeroing in on those communities where my wife and I would be a welcomed addition and be able to contribute to the community as well. I do want the mountains, waters, low taxes, and reasonable costs of living, etc. but more than anything we want to live and work with those people who are the Americans who resist political correctness, don't have time for socialists and anarchist "games", and whose eyes still tear up whenever the Star Spangled Banner is played.
I look out and see my country rediculed and scorned by hate-mongers and even traitors while a corrupted press enables the subversion and buries the truth. In a way, I guess we are hoping to find some pockets where our kind of "Lost Horizon or Shangri-La" still exists. The moountains and waters are extras, the lower taxes are indicators of sane and reasonable government.
It is clear many here, like yourself, love this country and more specifically, love your special places within. With the help of God, we will find our special place, too...perhaps near to some of my fellow freepers in God's country. And that would be especially nice...
apackof2, if any towns or communities stand out in your memory as representing exactly what i am seeking, please pass on whatever specific details you might consider to be the relevant and would help me to initiate job and relocation inquiries for myself and my wife there. Thank you.
(G)Arland Texas where you can be King of the Hill!
In my house. It's mandatory here.
