My in-laws from Australia stayed with us over the holidays, and this afternoon my husband took them to the airport to catch a flight to San Francisco--they are flying on United, but when he called to check in with me, he said they were told at the airport that the computers for United were down *world-wide*! He thought that was very weird and asked me to post here to see if anyone else had heard anything. I did a Google news search but didn't find anything, and went to United's website, but it just told me their system was "unavailable".
Must be related to that 'leap-second' that everyone was worried about.. (Or that the 'leap-second' will become an easy excuse for United and used by those who don't want to have 'leap-seconds' to put a quash on them.)
OOOhhhh, you're good! :-)
Thank you! I'll pass on the info, and put away the tin-foil hat, LOL! ;-)
Just called them about 15 min. ago and the computers are still down. Thanks for the link! I couldn't find anything via Google about it, and had to turn to trusty ol' FreeRepublic for the news (as usual!)
