Is DailyKos connected to Democratic hierarchy? (Vanity)
Posted on 01/03/2006 12:58:09 PM PST by CometBaby
This morning I heard Rush Limbaugh infer that the people who run DailyKos make and receive phone calls to people in the Democratic hierarchy. Is this true? Is the site connected directly to the Democratic party? Can anyone provide some solid sourcing on this?

I remember when the Kos first started posting and there was a lot of speculation that it was actually someone on the Right mocking the moonbat thinking of the left...
It was so extremely nutty that no one thought a leftie, that off his rocker could actually type.
It would be so funny if that is the case and that's why the dems seem so mental.

I remember after the election, people in the sKerry campaign said that they regularly read over at the DUmp.
No wonder they were such a bunch of screwballs .... LOL

I heard one time that the Democrats were indirectly funding the Democratic Underground. But I honestly need something more than rumor. I need some solid sourcing before I make the claim.

This post only relates to the thread 'cause it's about Kos (and considering my history of posting unrelated thoughts, consider yourself lucky), but last week I was reading the blog, like I do almost every day, and it was so typical of what you get out of kos:
He was on a rant about how much he hated Uzbekistan and he claimed that the State Department reported that they boiled dissidents alive. Then he provided a link. Well, a chimp can CTRL + F "boil" in about no time flat. And sure enough, on his link, nothing. Then "alive", then "dissident". Then I took 15 minutes to read the whole report, and NOTHING. SOB just made up a lie and hoped nobody would check.
Liberals have to lie in order to advance their agendas. It just doesn't stand up to reason.

it was probably sarcasm)

This record, combined with the sheer vigor and clarity of his online manifestos, has brought Moulitsas, a 34-year-old Californian whom nobody had heard of until three years ago, to the attention of the Democratic establishment, first as a resented adversary and now, increasingly, a kind of part-time sage, an affiliate member. Every third week, Moulitsas has a standing phone call with congressional powerbroker Rep. Rahm Emmanuel (D-Ill.), and he talks regularly with Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.). From the Washington Monthly. Google the string "Daily Kos" "Harry Reid" to find it.

I suppose the best way to prove it would be to say that they get calls and make calls to the DNC and then when they deny it, demand phone records...
But what if they did? I assume that there's some degree of connection between the two already; if it was proved, it wouldn't change my opinion. I've seen far too many liberals quote the DailyKos' opinion of the day verbatim too many times to assume it is anything other than a liberal dumping ground.
Only conservatives tend to have the decency to get embarrassed about such things (and only conservatives are fit to write articles about how they are connected...)

Heck, they all say the same things, 'cept Harry Reid doesn't use such colorful metaphors.

Here's the link. You'll have to read through it to find out where Rush first got the information.
