I really would like to see
The inside of a symphony.
As every fluted note fades
choking color, feeding shades.
Look! As sound is secreted
It's counterpart is greeted.
In the blend, curiously mixed,
The harmony is rightly fixed,
And the world continues turning.

I would like to see the inside
of a melody, to see the dance
of the music clef and staff
to see the notes join in a song
or watch the inside of a star
come to life and shine so bright
There are many things I wish to know
how does a snowflake feel, does
it know it's beautiful
does the wind have a minor key
who played the first drum
On and on I could go
what makes a good poem sing
or what makes chrystal ring
I heard the ancients believed
the planets sang, each planet
had a tone and on a cold night
while in the night they could be
heard in harmony offering their song
