~The Dragon Flies' Lair~Poetry Thread XXIV~
January 2, 2006 | bentfeather/Poets of the Lair

My Dragon Fly and Me

If I could be a Dragon Fly
and wing my way through the sky
I would never be shy
just me and my Dragon Fly!

By moonlight we ride the wind
chase the comets tail for fun
by day we would hide from the sun
our fragile wings would come undone

On darkest nights we would use
fireflies as our guide
we would dip and we would glide
through the heavens open wide
and scatter diamonds in the night sky
my Dragon Fly and me...

And we would wing past our lovers
silent in the night...
to kiss their face in our flight
much to their surprise and delight
my Dragon Fly and me in sight...

Such a view do we share
away up here in the air
of breezes soft through our hair
my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

LOL thanks so much Lady. I always get such a laugh from your cat. ;)

Gee whizzers, I layed down this afternoon and slept for a couple of hours.

Yeah, when one makes sleep look that good, it gets gluey.

Wow, yesterday we had 9 inches of snow with sloppy conditions and cold winds a blowing..

The snow is still with us --temps did not go up today at all.

I'm taking a chance on planting the Tom's so early . . . our last average frost date is Mar. 15th . . . but, I have a huge pile of leaves I can cover the veggies with if, we have a late frost. . . . Temps reached 90° yesterday and in the upper 80°'s today . . . by the way, I'll let you keep the snow . . . LOL!!!

Oh, thanks for letting us keep the snow. ;)

The old man out back of me started his cold frame several weeks ago. Poor old guy, we don't get much sun when it snows. He is in his 90s. What an example of good, clean living.

Amazing old gent. He is nearly blind. Walks so very slowly, but his garden is one of the finest I've seen.
