Is Cartman a crook?
Peter and Bobby Farrelly, the gross-out gurus behind Dumb and Dumber and There's Something About Mary are accusing South Park masterminds Trey Parker and Matt Stone of ripping off a movie idea.

And remember, if your ginger, you have no soul!
Ideas can't be copyrighted, only significant amounts of verbiage can be. Unless Matt and Trey quoted the same script Farrelly has no case.
If memory serves me right, that patch came about after Iraq was invaded by soliders upset they got sent to afghanistan insted.
And the market will indeed show the reality of how successful their work is as compared to yours... or these Farelly brothers for that matter. :~D
I bet Matt and Trey forget where they put more money than you'll ever make :~D
BANJO STRUMMER: Goin' down to South Park, gonna have myself a time
STAN & KYLE: Friendly faces everywhere, humble folks without temptation
BANJO STRUMMER: Goin' down to South Park, gonna see if I can't unwind
CARTMAN: Ample parking day and night, people shouting howdy neighbor
BANJO STRUMMER: Goin' down to South Park, gonna leave my woes behind
KENNY: (muffled)
BANJO STRUMMER: Come on down to South Park and meet some friends of mine!
Kenny's words are intentionally unintelligible in order to make people guess what he's saying (like the famous alleged "lyrics" of the song "Louie Louie")
I have no problem with you believing that.
It really is all about what is important to one in life.
However, I will disagree and say that I don't think these guys are going to go down as great writers, comedians, etc...however, they might in some people's worlds.
To each their own. I know Howard Stern is a big fan!
And I've seen you be wrong more than right. So I know where to file your assessment :~D
I believe they are only beginning. These guys are young, and they've 'got it'. I am increasingly impressed with their wit and talent. And I've actually seen it.
Being that it is the longest running show on Comedy Central and I would think one of the longest running on cable I think some people will remember it. Not to mention all the people who have bought the DVDs. The scary thing to think about is it may be on TV Land in 10 years.
hey balch3,
you seem to be popping off on all the south park threads lately.
how about you ask off the ping list and take your saintly ness tude over to a barney the dino threads some where.
it's quite obvious you are too good for us so called conservatives.
please refrain from glass houses.
I am emailing scientists employed in the Tokarov fusion reactor project. They will want to speak to you right away.
That is because it is quite clear that your butthole is the only thing in the world that is tight enough to hold fusing hydrogen particles.
Man, it only took one post for the Nerd Herd to show up on this one.
"yes, ridiculing the Virgin Mary is a conservative ideal /sarcasm."
How many times do you have to be told that they weren't ridiculing the Virgin Mary? Your obstinance in the face of facts shows that you're not to be taken seriously.
They weren't making fun of retarded people. Does that fact cause you to change your responses?
"Gee, I have somebody who's never met me, doesn't know a single thing about me, and he knows I'm a CINO because I like to watch South Park. You have the numbers for this coming Saturday night's Powerball, too, Karnak?"
Guess you weren't around yesterday. You're also an imbecile!
OMG! Can I steal that line! ROTFLMAO!

"I am so much more intellegent and sophisticated and thus know what is/isn't funny."
<<
Bingo. Anyone who says South Park lacks subtlety hasn't watched the show. It's how magicians work - they distract simpletons with big bold gestures and loud noises while they are busy working the trick in the background.
The fish (Klaus?) was a secret CIA project that went bad. They had Stan take him home to keep him hidden, just like with Roger the Alien.
And speaking of projects gone bad, when is SP going to bring Towlie back?
