Star Trek is 'most missed' series
Sci-fi series Star Trek is the show most people want to see returned to their TV screens, a survey has found. Originally broadcast in the US in 1966, it topped a poll of more than 1,000 viewers commissioned by UK interactive TV firm Home Media Networks.
Fantasy action series Buffy the Vampire Slayer was second, followed by long-running sitcom Friends.
Star Trek's latest spin-off TV series, Enterprise, was axed in February following poor ratings.
MOST MISSED TV SERIES 1. Star Trek 2. Buffy the Vampire Slayer 3. Friends 4. Fawlty Towers 5. Blake's 7 6. The X-Files 7. Babylon 5 8. Stargate 9. Seinfeld 10. The A-Team Source: Home Media Networks
Star Trek also spawned 10 movie spin-offs, the most recent being Nemesis in 2002.
Sitcom Fawlty Towers was the highest ranking UK show in the list, in fourth place.
Sci-fi shows featured heavily in the top 10, including UK series Blake's 7 and US shows Babylon 5 and Stargate.
Popular US sitcom Seinfeld, which spawned ongoing series Curb Your Enthusiasm, was in ninth place.
Whhhaaaattttt???? Who came up with this list? What about, All in the family, Bonanza, Hawaii 50, The Jeffersons, Bewitched, Mr Ed, I Dream of Jennie, etc, etc, etc
IMO If TV Land had any brains, they'd devote an evening (or two) each week to classic Sci-Fi. E.G. the original Star Trek, Space 1999, UFO, etc.
Twin Peaks? Isn't that what http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1548209/posts?page=25#25 was about??
Precursor to Fox News
What about Rush's TV show? I give that show a lot of credit for making a conservative. I'd like to see Rush bring it back someday.
I'm sorry but the whole trekky thing was/is one big liberal vision of the future. I enoyed the "acting" of Capt Kirk and the Spock (sp-?) dialogue, but Bones and Scotty were my favorites. Anyway, all "good things" come to an end.....let go of it!
That one escapes my memory.
Me too.
YES
The idiots who included Stargate must not be aware that it is still going strong on the SciFi channel and will start a new season next year.
Mr. T and Tina
Apparently, Enterprise was most-missed.
Is that 10 full seasons, or 10 of these 'half' season things they've been doing? Seriously, I look forward to it starting back up in January.
I miss the first year of A team.
You can keep the rest.
I could miss that blonde......
