No. Most kids that age go to movies for their evening entertainment. As girlfriends generally pick the flick, I wanted them to be aware of the theme since the ad basically omits it.
Who is that gay caballero?
You don't recognize him? He's from THE VILLAGE PEOPLE!
FReepmail me and little jeremiah if you want on/off the ping list.
People need to look over the list of best picture oscars. They are full of things that most of us consider wrong or immoral--Grand Hotel, Gone With the Wind, Casablanca, The Lost Weekend, All About Eve, From Here to Eternity, The Apartment, Tom Jones, etc. Immorality is nothing new as far as fodder for film plots.
Homosexual Agenda Ping.
Absolute MUST READ article. I've got to get his book. Just remember Leni Reifenstahl. I've never seen any of her propaganda films, maybe a clip here and there. But her movies are considered "great" artistically.
Please, read every word of this article.
Freepmail me and DirtyHarryY2K if you want on/off this pinglist.
Sorry - our wires crossed!
Apologies for ping you listees twice.
Great article, although I don't agree with all of it.
"Do we really want to call such an obsession especially one that destroys marriages and is based on constant lies, deceit and neglect of one's children "love"?
This is the point I agree with most. Committing adultery and neglecting your children are the real acts of depravity. I honestly don't give a damn if someone is gay. I'm also OK with civil unions--I say, if they're willing to be monogamous, more power to them. But if that is their inclination, they should not get married to women and have children in the first place.
Did Leni Riefenstahl's propaganda movies influence Germans? I think they did. Propaganda does influence people. Advertising works for the same reason. More people get elected the more "face" time they get on TV.
Most people, unfortunately, don't take the time, energy, or strength of character to really inform themselves. They just suck up what's fed to them. Maybe not most, but enough to matter.

Fair enough....you are absoutely right. I stand corrected. Coupled with political correctness, this propoganda can work quite well (as the increasing acceptance of this perversion shows).
"Propaganda does influence people."
This is why the left has been so smart to infiltrate the media, Hollywood, music and the colleges and universities.
"Most people, unfortunately, don't take the time, energy, or strength of character to really inform themselves"
I can't get a lot, if not most of my friends and relatives to look at or read alternative news or info sites or media. God forbid they should read the Freep or FrontPage Magazine, etc.
They don't want to know. Like all of the giant left wing conspirators or so called "liberals".
This movie just needs an alternate ending. I suggest having Clint Eastwood ride up and shoot the 2 sheepherders as they make out. Clint could light a little cigar and say, "All those damn sheepherders are queer."
Heh heh.
Anyone comforting themselves with this statistic is going to be sorely disappointed when this film hits all national markets. The website cited showed that it was only in a bit more than two hundred theatres as of that point, a mere fraction of screens available.
Did it open to pro-gay audiences? Unquestionably, yes. But the purpose of that was to create buzz for the film, and they will undeniably do that. Go to Rotten Tomatoes, 90% of the reviews are positive, most films don't get that kind of critical acclaim. Yes, the critics are all aware of their role in "educating" America, but you have to acknowledge that they've come out in force here. Even the author of the piece at the top of this thread agrees that the acting and story are powerfully done. You will find a LOT of people being drawn in by the reviews, and this movie will deliberately attract leftwing dollars, the way that Passion of the Christ attracted fundamentalist Christian dollars. People are always willing to "vote" with their money, that's what campaign contributions are.
Be prepared to be disturbed, if this kind of movie disturbs you.
Thank you for the spoilers. I didn't appreciate the "surprise" in the highly touted "Crying Game" and certainly have no desire to see this crap. No doubt it will run the field for Acadamy awards, another indication of how far removed Hollywood is from the rest of America.
John Wayne must be rolling in his grave. Would be fun to get Clint's take...
Went to see another flick last weekend...there were lines out the door for Brokeback, not a real surprise here in San Francisco.
My wife and I will take a pass. There are plenty of other more deserving flicks, like watching the Israelis hunt down the Munich killers...
