Some of my best stuff comes from garage sales, thrift stores etc. One particular buy was a $10 six legged side table painted flat yellow. Paint stripper and a lot of TLC later, she is a beauty. My dad say table as originally bought and said WHY? After the project was done, he complimented me on my eye for wood.

Yes, it's amazing what you can find under paint. Do you know what kind of wood it is? Is there a craftsman mark under the top or on one of the legs? In other words is it an important piece?

I ask because I have a walnut table that my Father made. He put a message under the table top with his signature. This makes it more valuable not only to me, but to collectors. I will never let this table go. It is beautiful. My Father is 90 now and still an incredible craftsman.
