I don't think today will be gentle. I still have one gift to get and I'm cooking most of the meal today as tomorrow is Sunday. I also have a few more stocking stuffers to get. It really won't be that hard to get the stuff because I'm not that picky. I've decided that I don't remember through the years what I've been given, just that I've been remembered. I don't agonize over presents any more. I just get what I can get and be done with it.
It's the cooking that will be the challenge. I have snitchers in the family.

A GOOD A.M. TO THE HONORABLE SIT IN CHAIRMAN (CHAIRETTE?) FROM THE MISSISSIPPI GULF COAST, USA, BRUISED BUT NOT BROKEN.
We had a most successful Christmas party night and 'a good time was had by all'. I gave all the men folk knives as we are all working on our farms all the time and they come in handy.
I have spoken of Dillon here lots of time, serious, dry in his talk, a little cotton top, kinda a one type of boy, 'how you fell dillon,'fine'. How is school 'good'. You know what I talking about. Ole Dillon gave me the nicest present, a plague, about 1 1/2 foot x 1 1/2 feet and it reads 'OVAL OFFICE then has the seal of the USA. It has been waterproofed so I can put it on the door of my hen house.
Chickens, they are laying very good but was has been declared, a chicken hawk tries to get her late yesterday and shortly I am going out there and wait on the rascal with my trusted 12 ga. shotgun. will report when the situation is settled.
Good enough light to ho 'ahunting' so, I shall be off, wish me luck and yes, I can shoot, in my younger days they called me 'dead eye', well kinda.
Have a very good day and do NOT take it as gospel if your spouse tells you they do not want anything, you will find out fast 'they lie'.
Toby

I solve the problem by preparing MORE than I think we'll eat. By the time the snitchers have their way with my food, I usually end up with the correct amount.

Good Luck with the varmit hunt. I totally understand your frustration with the invader and I wish you luck at nabbing the intruder.
Don't forget, I took out the rabbit who was chewing on the Endless Summer Hydranga given to us in my late FIL's memory. If you need help with the hunt, give me a call, I'll be right there with my trusty 22.

Here's wishing each of you (too many to name in the "To:" line) a very merry Christmas!
Trusting that you will be reminded at this season of the love of the eternal God in the gift of His eternal Son... God made known in flesh.
A portion of scripture that is not quoted very often at Christmas time but has been especially meaningful to me is:
"Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing (without reputation); taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.
And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death-- even death on a cross!
Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father". [Philippians 2:5-11]
It is most wonderful to me to remember that God became a man in the form of a babe in Bethlehem but also to remember that we worship this One who grew into manhood, willingly gave Himself as a sinless sacrifice, died, was buried, raised from among the dead and is now seated at the right hand of God... interceding for those who trust in Him.
How glorious to be remembering the time of the Savior's birth!
Merry Christmas to each of you!
