Jeremy Majorowicz thought something was wrong when he saw a dog sitting on railroad tracks for at least two hours. But he didn't realize how wrong until he and several other men determined that the gray and white husky had been literally frozen to the ties in below zero weather.
The construction worker first saw the dog on the tracks before his crew called off work for the day Monday because of the cold, and headed to a restaurant. But the dog was still there when they returned 1 1/2 hours later.
"I like animals, and I didn't want to see it get hurt," Majorowicz said.
He approached the dog, and offered it a bit of a muffin, but the animal wouldn't bite.
"I have two dogs myself, so I didn't want to leave the dog if there was something wrong," Majorowicz said, so he called the police.
Police Officer Tim Strand said the dog was "shivering unmercifully" when he arrived and would not come to him, so he called animal control officer Al Heyde.
Heyde hooked the dog around the neck with a catch pole in an attempt to capture the dog, but it would not budge.
Strand then determined the dog was frozen to the railroad ties.

Living in Texas...my dog about every other year when it gets cold enough hunkers down and lays a couple of logs that steam...turns around a cocks his head and looks at his work and wonders what is going on..... My dog is lucky he lives in Texas...land of no state income taxes!!

I too am so glad for this happy ending....my friend just got a husky 8 mths. old....I have never laughed so much at a dog....he is so adorable and what a personality...I guess this is the nature of the breed
I just wonder how they'd do in a tropical climate. My rott isn't a fan of hot and humid weather.
This reminded me of a news story from a couple of years ago
when Chicago was having a hard freeze, some firemen were called to this old woman's house by a neighbor,
when they got there they found the 80something year old
woman on her knees in the bathroom, a pipe had broken,
flooded the place and she had started to mop it up but
had been FROZEN in place on her knees, they chopped her out
and got her to an ER but I never found out how she did.
If one wants to see examples of unconditional love they don`t need to look any farther than dogs and sometimes cats.
Good looking dog. The shelter won't have any problems finding him a home if he doesn't have an owner that can't be found.
