ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) -- Joey Harrington is getting at least one more chance with the Detroit Lions.

He will start at quarterback over Jeff Garcia this week against the New Orleans Saints, interim coach Dick Jauron said Wednesday.

"We are just trying to see if we can jump start and get a win somehow," Jauron said.

Bobby would be so hung-over after ONE game with this bunch he'd be ruined forever.

Bobby won championships playing hung-over (or just flat-out smashed).

I've watched the Lions lose games in ways never before imagined. Missed extra points at the end of the game, overtime touchdowns on kickoffs (Bears Thanksgiving '80) and on and on. I think the Ford family is cursed personally.

Well they've won some games in unusual fashion as well (coin flip vs the Steelers, 12 men on the field against the Cowboys).

The entire organziation, from top to bottom. Ford Sr. needs to let go, Millen needs to be fired, Harrington cut, and cut the freeloading, do nothing high priced talent.

Until William Clay Ford walks away, the Lions will continue to be losers.

I've always wondered if the Lions had a literal curse upon them. Well, about 5 or so years ago I heard a guy on the radio (WJR Detroit) talking about how many years before he was angy at the Lions team for mistreating his sister (she was unjustly fired). The guy said he had obtained an old book of ancient Irsh curses and followed it to the tee to place a curse on the Lions organization. Makes you wonder...

If you're not from the Detroit area, you may not know that there are actually some fans who've suggested bringing Wayne back. Sheesh...

And for anyone unfamiliar with Wayne: he brought in the Run 'n Shoot offense which was actually quite successful for the Lions. They put a lot of points on the board -- frequently almost as many as the opposing team! Ouch...

My favorite Wayne Fontes moment was when he suggested that the problem with the Lions was that they --- are you sitting down? -- "scored TOO FAST."

To put it another way, the defense was incapable of holding a lead.

Spot on.

Anyone who wants to take on the job should give just one condition -- that Millen be fired.
