George Steinbrenner's going to make him get a haircut.

This sucks. My wife and kids are unhappy with this move.

As a Yankee fan, I think this is a great move, especially since he's only signed for four years (which was my main reservation about getting him in the first place.) The Yanks haven't had a real leadoff hitter since Knoblauch, and they were looking at Bubba Crosby in center next year.

Besides, I think Damon is a standup guy, and as far as a Boston player goes, he's engaged in a minimum of trash talk about the Yanks. If you asked a typical Yankee fan which Red Sox player they liked/respected, Damon and Wakefield would be the ones most Yankee fans would pick.

The Yankees no long hair policy will take away Damon's whole appeal. Of course, he'll still be the best lead-off hitter in the American League.

As a Yankee fan I never liked seeing Damon at the plate. As the father in law of two diehard Red Sox fans I can only smile.

Oh man... the Yanks are getting two of our classy guys... Johnny Damon and pitcher Mike Myers. (The Yanks can keep Alan Embree...LOL) And another one of my faves Bill Mueller (aka "Billy Ballgame") goes to the Dodgers. Maybe I should go back to being a baseball nonfan... :-(
