Welcome to the OFFICIAL Friday/Saturday Night Singles' Thread
"We're Gonna Have a Good Time Tonight...Let's Celebrate...It's All Right!"
In store for tonight (as proposed by apackof2):
To get our thread started, we're going to answer these questions:
1) "When and why did you join Free Republic?"
2) "What was going on at the time?" (Top movies, favorite song(s), price of gas, etc.)
3) "What happened on that day in history?"
Of possible further interest:

FRmail me if you want on or off the F/S Singles' Thread Ping List. It will only be used for pinging to the official thread, and will never be used for any other purpose.

A special thanks to Paul_Denton for keeping the thread going in my absence.

Free Republic is the premier online gathering place for independent, grass-roots
conservatism on the web. We're working to roll back decades of governmental largesse,
to root out political fraud and corruption, and to champion causes which further conservatism in America.
And we always have fun doing it. Hoo-yah!

Hmmm - any prospects out there? How long do you think you'll be off?
We are getting through Christmas it seems. We seem to be doing OK.

It's kinda slim pickings this time of year. Most folks don't want the hassle of interviewing and hiring and training while so many people are on vacation. So...we shall see! I'm just keeping my eyes open. And I'm supposed to get a call back on one position to schedule an interview...so there's that!
Holidays are tough when you've lost someone recently. I know I cried for just about every single one for the first year and a half or so after Mom passed away - she was young, but not as young as your beautiful Mary Jane.
It's gotten easier, for my Dad as well, I think. But there's still a hole, and always will be, I expect. Doesn't seem like it's been three and a half years since she left us.

It's rough. Hardest lately for me has been the lack of sleep - can't get my mind to stop spinning.
Christmas Eve we are flying to Florida to see my parents for a week. I can maybe get some rest there since my folks will want to have fun with the kids.

Hence you're up FReeping at midnight? ;-)
Speaking of sleep, I should probably head that way pretty quick. Starting to have trouble forming coherent sentences.

Pretty well, although I had a long drive home. I'm about ready to turn in, I think. I can barely keep my eyes open or my fingers tappin'.

Hi Theresa! Yes, it looks like most are gone, and I shall soon join them. I'm really, really tired.
