Randal's event was set up as charity event from the beginning. VIP's were invited to play ball with atheletes and bid on items donated by them. They all knew it was a charity. I was surprised they only managed to raise $11,000 with Sugar Ray Leonard there.
Rebecca's event was intended by Yahoo not as a charity function but as an appreciation to advertisers or managers or whoever, so I don't even know why the charity angle was even piggy-backed on. And then the whole thing about Joe Piscopo backing out seemed bogus. Rebecca was really in a no-win situation, and I think that was the point.
I haven't thought one final has been entirely fair. It was obvious halfway through the past two seasons who was going to win. After hiring two white males, they needed a non-white or a non-male to win the third season so they picked Kendra but Kendra was still white so this year they *had* to pick a minority. Randal was their obvious choice. The rest was all just an exercise.
That's why I thought Trump's infatuation with Rebecca would lead him to offer two jobs. She couldn't be allowed to actually win but Trump wanted her anyway which set the stage for the whole ugly scene last night. He expected Randal to okay it because he has been, from the very beginning, portrayed as a nice guy. Randal crossed him on live national television. Now whether that was pre-planned or not, I can't tell you but it sure came off evaporating all the goodwill that Randal had built with the audience.
