In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".
chatoyant \shuh-TOY-unt\ adjective
: having a changeable luster or color with an undulating narrow band of white light
Example sentence:
The chest was opened to reveal a veritable treasure of glittering gold jewelry and chatoyant gems.
Etymology: The complex structure of a cat's eye not only enables it to see at night but also gives it the appearance of glowing in the dark. Not surprisingly, jewels that sport a healthy luster are often compared with the feline ocular organ, so much that the term "cat's-eye" is used to refer to those gems (such as chalcedony) that give off iridescence from within. If you've brushed up on your French lately, you might notice that the French word for "cat" ("chat") provides the first four letters of "chatoyant," a word used by jewelers to describe such lustrous gems. "Chatoyant" derives from the present participle of "chatoyer," a French verb that literally means "to shine like a cat's eyes."
Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the Word for the Day in a sentence.
The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day.

WFB's attempt to emulate us ; ) No pushing at the door please!
Yeah well, that's what it means - sorry......you are just going to have to go shopping to stop the dream
I'm thinking this was a money making scheme......if not, this guy is never going to have sex again ... lol
how obtuse not to recognize the writing style of his own mum....poseurs are generally very noticeable.
Excuse me, I just spilled my diet cherry coke......... I wonder if his mom has any repetitive statements she uses that would be a dead giveaway to her identity?
Are you in a different time zone Vast?
We were just discussing the "shower with ice pellets" that situation would be........
Heartbreaking - I don't deny the parents both needed to be killed, but why she allowed her child to be put into that situation would cause me to take a baseball bat to her myself!
Oh, good grief-that is too funny!
"shopping to stop the dream"
Nope, not going shopping-I've got to finish these invoices, anyway-and I don't mind the dream not stopping-it isn't a nightmare...
Like my dad used to say, some people just need killin'-but it does sound like that whole family has a screw loose.
;^)
There are people who have stood up against family members to protect their children - this woman should have done the same before the child was actually harmed
And clearly the defendent, by virtue of arriving at the same time every year, had enterened into a defacto visitation schedule with the witness.
This case should be dismissed immediately.
well i guess you can be a lawyer based on aping legalese and i am guessing you two could be gynecologists as well. jacks o many trades yunz are : )
Indeed-any mother who would allow anyone, family member or not who is a known molester access to her child has got to be a special kind of stupid.
Obviously this WFTD group is much smarter than some on FR - we recognize the stupidity of that woman allowing her father access to her child.
As a matter of fact, I am an amateur gynecologist. (Which means that I don't charge anything to conduct an examination.)
