"Katie would likely be able to dictate a whole new direction at the nightly news show

Is it possible for CBS to go farther or harder left?

Hope it does them in, just like Howard Stern will do at Sirius.

I have an idea....how about I submit a proposal to CBS News for me to do the Evening News at a mere 1 million per year. But then again, I would have to report conservative stories, and they wouldn't want that. But then again, paying somebody that much just to anchor the news is beyond preposterous. Especially for a medium that many don't even consider a good source for news. Changing the messenger will not help; changing the stories and the tone of the reporting might.

The CBS news shark has truly jumped

Well said.

It's laughable that CBS would pay $60 million to go from a distant third place to a VERY distant third place.

greed, greed, greed....

Think of all the starving babies that would feed. Think of all the children without health care who that would help.

Dang... It could go a long way toward paying off the deficit, or guarantying the future of social security and medicare.

Will she have to show the public live pictures of the inside of her butt for 60 million?

This is my prediction, and you heard it here. Katie Couric by the third month, she will have the lowest ratings of any of the three major networks.

Secondly, her show will not just report the news it will be a conduit for her left leaning liberal views.

By the end of the first year, she will be replaced or have resigned.

Yep, CBS would be better off picking someone like Madeline Albright or Janet Reno or Helen Thomas. I wish they would hire Our Heroine Ann Coulter, they would shoot up to First Place instantly then, but alas they will never do something smart like that.

I don't think she'd have a problem paying higher taxes, liberals love higher taxes.

CBS is offering Katie Couric $60 million over five years to anchor the network’s "Evening News,” according to a report – LESS than the $15 million a year she is currently paid as host of NBC’s "Today.”

There is no way that she is worth that kind of money. It almost makes me see some benefit to socialism.

Compare Katie Couric to Dan Rather. Same ignorance, arrogance and bias. More balls, less wrinkles. Sounds like a winner to me. NOT!

So it is OK and so glamorous and so very cool for Katie Couric to make $ 15 millions a year for a silly morning show, but it is extremely greedy and very bad for some CEO responsible for tens or hundreds billions dollars company to make $ 5 million a year. One of the worst things about liberals is their unspeakable hypocrisy.
