Where to Buy Christian Christmas Gift Wrap?

Posted on 12/11/2005 3:45:50 PM PST by Tangerine Time Machine

Each year it gets harder and harder to locate Christmas wrapping paper with a Christian theme. You know, the designs we used to take for granted: Babe in a Manger, the Three Wise Men, Peace on Earth, etc.

I thought it would be useful to pool our resources as to what is available out there in stores and on the Web.

After a few hours on Google, I've found two designs that fit the bill:

Jeweled Peace

We Three Kings

Clearly my Google-foo skills are deficient. Anyone else have some good sources?

My point is that you guys are wringing your hands because supposedly you can't find Christmas themed wrapping paper.

Hildy...a lot of us said we don't use wrapping paper AT ALL! (See my #16).

Nobody's whining here except you.

Show me where I am whining...I am getting fed up with the people here who think their lives somehow will be ruined if a store says Happy Holidays instead of Merry Christmas. It's so, how do I say this...LIBERAL LIKE.

I get my fix from America's Test Kitchen now.

Oh...that is such a great show! I get the newsletters from them, and Kimball is such a good writer. Here's an excerpt from the latest:

"Dear Friend of Cook's,

"It was a cold, snowy, wonderful Thanksgiving on the farm. We had our own family plus a half-dozen neighbors for our usual 4 o'clock dinner. The turkey was a delicious home-grown 25-pounder from Jean, who lives across the road, and we used our own potatoes, apples, and carrots from the root cellar. If I had forgotten, I was reminded that there is no greater gift than cooking for friends and family.

"The conversation around the fireside quickly turned to the old ways. Jean remembered that as a child she had picked milkweed used for filling life vests. Steve talked about the rag picker from his hometown, and Jack described the leather cape the iceman wore over his shoulders to protect him from the large, cold blocks of ice. Tom mentioned that when he was a kid his family often had to hunt to put meat on the table. Besides hunting deer, squirrel, and rabbit, they trapped blackbirds with a net. It took three or four birds just to feed one person."

No one on this thread has said anything of the kind.

Is your church having Christmas morning services?

Yes, but I prefer the Christmas Eve one. "Silent Night" at midnight by candlelight is wonderful.

After a few hours on Google, I've found two designs that fit the bill:

Hours? HOURS?!

You need to learn the art of using quote marks to narrow your search on Google. :-)

Start with "gift wrap" enclosed in quotes, then add more key words like Nativity Jesus Christmas etc. and then hit the Search key.

The "Jeweled Peace" on Earth Good Will to Men" paper at this site is gorgeous

This site has beautiful Christmas cards.

This Newborn King gift bag is very pretty and affordable.

Yes, hours. So far we've direct-linked to two, maybe three products in this thread that fit the bill (wrapping paper, with a "click here to purchase" button). Several people have made some interesting alternative suggestions or pointed in the general direction of a website or search engine, but not many have posted hard links to actual product. And with good reason; they're hard to find (Google spits out hundreds of useless links however you phrase your search). If it were truly simple, we would have seen more links posted.

I hoped someone else had already found a good source.

My point is that you guys are wringing your hands because supposedly you can't find Christmas themed wrapping paper. My point is you don't know and will never know what it's like to be virtually excluded in your own town. That being said, I am not complaining...I'm just stating a fact.

Get real, you are complaining. I am not a Christian but I certainly can see where Christmas is being discriminated against. The powers that want Christmas dead simply don't care that much for the jewish religiion yet, but they will. You are bitching and complaining about other people bitching and complaining and then trying to say your not. You are simply jealous because all the talk is about Christmas and very little about chanukah.

The sad fact is, there are more Chistians than there are Jews or Hebrews about, and Menorahs haven't been banned from the town square yet as have the creche scenes in some towns. Quit YOUR bitching and take the advice the nice person gave you on where to find Menorahs.

Oh, yes, one more thing, many of the people out there on FR fought in WWII or had relatives that did. One of the things they did in that war was to free a sh** load of Jews from death camps. We in the US stand up for Israel, and denounce the Governments line on what Israel should be doing about terrorism. We believe they should be killing terrorists and to hell with apeasement. We stand by Jews and you are bitching as if somehow we caused your town to not sell Menorahs. What a putz.

With all the hoopla about "Christmas" vs. "Holiday" regarding secular things such as parades and decorated trees, I'm a bit amazed to find that some churches don't intend to hold services on Christmas Sunday.

Apparently Christ isn't the "reason for the season" even for some Christians.

I'm at a loss for words. I knew there were anti-semites here, but I didn't realize, until today, just how many there are.

My children have a jewish parent and a christian parent. You have a problem with that?

Not at all. But they are one, or the other, or neither, or something else. Either they accept that Jesus is the Son of God or they don't. I don't care which they are. I don't care if they think they can accept both that Jesus is and Jesus isn't. I don't care if you think that. All I'm saying is that both religions (not the cultures) are mutually exclusive. You can't accept the central creeds of both faithfully.
