The Hobbit Hole XXVI - Home is behind, the world ahead
http://freeper.the-hobbit-hole.net/ ^

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Home is behind, the world ahead

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

This is from one of the kids (yes, I'm watching them again tonight)>

I'm feeling funny. pizza!

What he means is he is feeling silly and full of laughter, and is excited about eating pizza for supper.

I'm feeling sort of the same way, but I thought it was because of the full moon.

Actually, the recipe is originally for the "Cheese Rounds."

3/4 cup butter or margarine
3 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1 1/2 to 1 3/4 cups flour
Dash of salt
1 tablespoon poppy seeds or 2 teaspoons paprika (I use paprika)

Cream butter until light and fluffy

Add cheese, flour salt, paprika (or poppy seed) and mix to form dough.

Chill dough for about 2 hours (I usually skip this if I can form the balls easily)

Shape dough into small even balls ( approx. 1 inch diameter) and place on a greased cookie sheet.

Bake at 400 F for 10 minutes or until just cooked through. They should not be browned.

Cool on the cookie sheet.

For Sausage balls, I use 1/4 cup of butter and 1/2 pound of bulk sausage, but you can play around with the butter: sausage ratio to suit.

So, was playing so WOW and the machine goes 'click' and died'. Some poking and prodding and it appears the main power supply fan broke. So now I am doing powersupply surgery so I can get back to gaming.
On a friday night, does that make me a geek? ;D

Do you have a spare desktop for gaming?

And yes, I'm afraid you may very well be a geek...especially if you have extra parts on hand.

If you're fashioning parts yourself, you're an engineer geek. Probably.

Saving that...it sounds good!

And speaking of good, I ended up making chicken and dumplings with the chicken broth n' that, instead of soup. Tasty.

Yes yes and maybe.
Got a spare gaming PC. Got spare parts on hand. Might have to fashion something from scratch but that is a last resort. I also have they stuff on hand to do that but it would take a lot longer. Casting the rotor hub would be tricking. I a vaguely tempted to try but probably will not. I can't find my spare fan that size (know I have one some place) so I am working on several backup plans.

Mmm.....dumplings.....

I've got some broth in the freezer. Don't have any chicken meat to go into Chicken and Dumplings so I guess I'll make an egg drop soup or something with it.

Are there all-night computer parts stores? That could be cool...

Any news yet? I called the guy at the college and left a voicemail, but he never called back. Now I gotta wait. I rather dislike weekends while job searching.

It is a 550 watt unit. Bestbuy would probably charge over 70 bucks...
So the repair is going to have to hold. :D

And from the other one:

hi this is E**** with the wethr too day it is snoing it is bad its ciling me wel thats ol we got too day bi.

This one is left uncorrected as to spelling and grammar. It means:

"Hi, this is E**** with the weather; today it is snowing. It is bad. It's killing me. Well, that's all we have today. Bye."
