I don't like being grabbed, either...by people I don't know or don't know well.
I tend to respond unpredictably.
Got an entire football team mad at me once because of how I responded when a player grabbed me in the lunch line.
Heh.
I'll keep that in mind ;~D
LOL!! No, not YOU! You can grab me and hug my neck even.
I know you!
Ugh...no, he didn't. It just got more and more obnoxious. I woulda hammered on the ceiling, but from the sound of it, they were all drunk, and I figure they would have just said "F you!", considering they seemed to be trying to outdo one another in using "f" in place of every possible part of speech.
Finally at about two, someone banged on his door a bunch of times. Then there was a lot of arguing, from what I could tell, though I couldn't hear what they were saying. I think he basically said "F you!", because they went back to yelling over his music and nothing changed.
I finally fell asleep out of sheer exhaustion, but I ain't exactly bright-eyed and bushy-tailed this morning. I'd complain to the office, but I'm not sure what they could do, beyond shaking a finger and saying "You really shouldn't do that...."
Heh...guys in the Air Force learned not to tap me on the shoulder or anything if I wasn't expecting it. I tend to kick.
~chuckling~
You know, most places have laws about loud noises after a certain time (usually 11pm).
A call to the police puts an end to that mischief quick in my neighborhood.
I don't know that there's a law here...I suppose there probably is. I do know that the apartment complex's policy is that quiet hours start at ten. Almost NO night does he abide by that.
I'd be chicken about calling the police over noise, I'm afraid. Especially as I'd have to stay up and let them in, and I imagine the guy would find out and be ticked off.
*sigh* It's just been a real pain in the neck. Why people can't be at least minimally considerate, I really don't understand.
What I might do is this evening, check with some of our other neighbors. If they were bugged, get them to sign a nice little letter to the apartment people. Tell them to ask him politely not to do that again, and say if he does do it again, you'll call the police. Don't talk to Mr. Beepy at all.
If I could somehow avoid annoying other neighbors, I'd figure out a way to pump, say, opera into his apartment at top volume. Maybe bagpipes.
Or Mozart. Mozart would be cool and unusual punishment.
I have Mozart opera. Two in one. I think he'd not care for that.
Is he home now? Because probably most of the neighbors aren't.... put a boom box up near the ceiling, point the speakers up, and play.
When I call the cops on stuff like that I specifically tell them that I am worried about retaliation so to please not come to my home afterwards.
They can call me back if they like, but please not to advertise ~who~ called the cops.
They understand that and usually pretend they were in the neighborhood and heard the noise for themselves. :-D
Trouble here is that they can't get into the building without our letting 'em in...so they'd know it was someone from within the building. Suppose they wouldn't know exactly who, though.
Well...we'll see. If he continues to act up, I guess I do what I hafta do.
Give them his apartment number, they can buzz him.
Actually, if you're calling the cops to a secure building... they'd be able to go through the apt manager to get in. You don't have to buzz them in. Let them worry about it.
I used to go find their electrical box (on the outside of the building) and cut off the juice.
Are there vacancies in the building? You could just ask to be moved to a new unit further away because of the noise.
