The Hobbit Hole XXVI - Home is behind, the world ahead
http://freeper.the-hobbit-hole.net/ ^

Posted on 12/11/2005 8:37:40 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Home is behind, the world ahead

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Oh! Hmmm let me check my notes...

When someone says that in Sluggy Freelance, they usually haul out the plasma cannons. Do you have a spare plasma cannon? The bothers have having an overdose of testosterone.

So far, so good. Lots of sweets, some fruit, my cheese and sausage stuff. Someone brought tortellini shells with cheese (it's in a crock pot.) We'll see how this develops during the day. :)

Two of them are in the shop. I could bring the spare but from my experience plasma cannons CAUSE overdoses of testosterone, they don't counter act them.

I've got the two older ones interested in the tree problem now. Making them both measure stuff and calculate tree dimensions. Mwahaha.

Panthers indeed....

Now they're settlin' down to a nap with Cartman... five minutes from now they'll be doin' something else. ;~D

Cartman actually played with them last night for a bit... chased them around and plotzed them when they ran by... He runs through the house with all the grace of a cow.

Still got it ;D
Have they taken branch density into account for optimal light light string support, coverage, and radiance?
And no Christmas tree is complete without an embedded Lego outpost perched in it's branches. Needs to have one branch gap just big enough to maneuver space craft into the landing platform.

I'm still teaching them how to figure out the proper width of a tree.

I don't think they do lego much. Not really sure...

Are they optimizing for viewing angle or present containment capacity?

Height, I think, taking into consideration all the ornaments we have to get on it. They're old enough to know that the presents all get put near the tree anyway.

I'm liking the up-in-the-loft proposal so far. That would be the best view.

I tell you what, sis...I know that people get massages every day and love them, but the only person giving me a "full body" massage is my husband. I'm afraid if I tried to let someone I didn't know give me a rub like that, I'd rip their arms out of their sockets and beat them bloody with them! My instincts would just kick in, you know? LOL!

A foot massage would be good, maybe...with a pedicure.

I've never had a massage either...

But others seem to enjoy them... the fuller the better :~D
