The Hobbit Hole XXVI - Home is behind, the world ahead
http://freeper.the-hobbit-hole.net/ ^

Posted on 12/11/2005 8:37:40 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Home is behind, the world ahead

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

I always visualized Heathcliff (from Wuthering Heights...not the cat) as looking like that.

Well, I remember a headache a couple months ago that lasted a few days too .... If they're migranes, they're new to me.

Yeah...I remember.

They sound classic.

You really should have a physical someday sis...just to make sure. The first time I had the radical visual disturbance (vision loss and all...you remember) I had to have a CT scan and everything! Even though I'd had migraines since my early teens, it was the change in the way I got them that they wanted to evaluate.

I'm just thinking this is a new thing for your and should be checked.

Easier said than done, I know.

Wife has an appointment this morning with thedoctor she ~wanted~ to see (did Nana's hip). Appointment is at 11:30. I have a bored meeting at 11. Working on transportation...sigh.

Likely means surgery on Monday...

OK - If I happen to get run over by a truck that puts me in the presence of a doctor, I'll ask about it ;~D

Okay, her boss lady (and nayber) is going to take her. That works.

Now, about the bored meeting...

See y'all later.

Whew... I was still tryin' to figure out how to get out of that...

It's not that I don't care, I do.... but it involved both ~town~ and a doctor.

How's Homer doing? Have the antibotics started working for him?

About your headache--could it be sinus congestion? If I don't take my antihistimes, I get the worst 'front of the head, behind the eyes' headache, goes away when I remember my pill. Two days with a headache is not good.

My sinuses haven't been plugged... I dunno.... but I hope it goes away today... got stalls that are gettin' bad and new bedding I have to go get.

oh - and corin... meant to say... On your mouse... I'd try just opening the cabinet up and seeing if the kitty can get the mouses... but if you want a sure thing, use traps in the cabinet (and close the door so kitty doesn't get the trap :~o) but don't use any poison with critters around, even if you can keep the poison itself safe, you don't want the cat or the dog finding the poisoned dead mouse and eating that either.

I put some D-con mouse poison out once (before I got the Kitty.) I later found piles of it under furniture that I had to move before painting the living room.
