Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Home is behind, the world ahead
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Good night, 2J!

'night-'night! sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite...
or as bittygirl says "nigh nigh tiddy." translated as 'night-'night kitty."

Yah... started looking at DVR's, mainly as a someday present for Dad. They're easier to use than the VCR.
But TiVo and the like... all require a subscription, and I don't get that part. Well... don't like it anyway. The stuff is all being recorded locally, so it seems that the network information should be accessible more easily than some subscription service.

If I ever have cash again and if I ever live somewhere where I have cable and if I get a new 'puter with a bigger hard drive and all...I'd like to get a TV tuner for it and just use that for DVR. Can't be too hard.
Probably not as easy as a stand-alone unit would be for your Dad, though.

Well, I finally have dinner in my stomach. Gonna pour another bourbon and hit the couch.
I wonder if I can get my wife to join me.
G'night!

I agonized about whether to get a TV tuner for my new puter I got last month. It was just one of the options... but decided against it, since I didn't feel like running another cable to the puter (under the house-- shudder) and if I get digital cable I think I'd have to get another cable box for it (I think?)... and... didn't really have a use for it other than grabbing screen shots now and then. The DVR would take care of all the recording I'd want to do...
So there's that.

Still no word from Meet the Parents Moot II...?
To: RosieCotton
Alamo Moot is going great. Got back fairly late from our date. For those that want to know I did the one knee thing and asked her properly to marry me. And she shot me down...
No wait... never mind. She said yes. We went down to the River Walk and walked, munched, drank, etc.
To: TalonDJ
heh! Well... it's all official-like now. :-)
Congratulations! :-) I'll bet it feels pretty darn good.

Our DVR is part of the DISH Network set-up. I swear I haven't been able to figure the thing out! I'll have to get Clare to teach me about it before she goes off to college!

You need to ask her father for her hand in marriage. Didn't he do that last week?
And BTW, Congratulations and Best Wishes!
