Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Home is behind, the world ahead
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I just need to get a better container for it if it does get going. I think a mason jar with a lid I could just set on top would work best...where would they sell those?
Or I could check the thrift store for a ceramic crock of some sort. I think that's what Mom used when we had sourdough starter going.
I liked my last batch! But I know every area is different, as far as wild yeast goes.

Heh...
He may not have been a real snappy dresser, but he was a good person and I knew it. And he believed in me and encouraged me the way no one else ever had.
But it was hard on my parents and they never really liked him. Remember, I was dating a guy that had 40 million dollars before I met Steve, who drove a shuttle bus for the University of Texas at the time.
(I know you don't believe me about the 40 Million.)
*Things* never mattered to me that much. I've never regretted dumping that rich fellow for Steve. Not ever.

The rich guy I was dating before Steve was a Catholic, btw...from a well-known family in Texas.
He's a priest now.

How about the guy that drove off the bridge into the river? Did you ever give another thought to him? ;~D

Steve drove the old orange "Laidlaw" buses...'member those?
I used to make lunch and catch the bus he was driving and just ride around in circles with him, talking.

I swear, I just realized I don't even remember that guy's name.
Heck, I was only 16 at the time. Been a lot of water under that old bridge!

D'oh! I just realized I read your original sentence wrong... I thought the $40-Million-dollar-guy was driving a bus, not Steve!
I think they still have orange buses on the routes around campus.

Hi everybody...
...tired...
Been building furniture and changing the electrics most of the day. Doesn't seem like I did a lot but I took all day doing it :)
I think there's two more carloads (and two more days) before I have to call in the friends'n'relations with vans for the big stuff. They're all set to roll Saturday morning, and all I gotta do is get one of 'em's kids to church for Christmas Program practice in my car while he takes the seats out of the van.
Pray for good weather 0:)

Hi Rosie!
I'm feeling a bit sick tonight. Work has been super stressful because of Year End and it's worn me out a bit, I think.
I have an emergency payroll to run in the morning which will take at least an hour to enter, then a lunch meeting with a client (requires driving downtown *shudder*), then back to the office to finish up the details for the office Christmas party on Friday.
Maybe I should have a drink to relax so I sleep really well tonight.
It's been a Corin week so far. :-D
And my former co-worker in Denver (Miami, FL transfer) is freezing his everlovin' butt off, I'll bet! *evil laugh*
Any you, sis? How you doin'?

I'm having some Tension Tamer tea. Probably NOT a wise move, considering I'm planning to stay up for at least part of the night. Jen's getting picked up by the airport shuttle at three AM, so she's not going to bed.
It's windy here today, for sure! It actually wasn't too horrible cold - in the 30s, I think - but the windchill is at least in the teens. And most jackets don't help a lot against really gusty weather.

mmmm....Tension Tamer.....
We got a real kick out of his boasts that Colorado was going to be sunshine and fairy tales. I asked him about the snow (he'd never ~lived~ with it around) and he shrugged it off.
The only thing he's shrugging on now is his jacket, coat and scarf. hehehehe...
