Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Home is behind, the world ahead
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Just read about it. Every year we lose several people to CO poisoning, and it is so easily detected. Speaking of, you do have a CO monitor at home, don't ya?

Happy Birthday, Ruthie!! Hope you have a wonderful day, even though it is a work day...
To: LSAggie
Yeah...in the bedroom. It's got battery back up (ear piercing alarm when the battery needs to be changed....freaks the cat out.)

So I forgot my wallet this morning and therefor did not have my badge. So I was trying to call someone that could sign me in at security but no one was at their desks. Then some lady I completely did not recognize knew me and signed me in. I am not sure but I THINK she was the admin on a program I was on 3 years ago. I am normally bad with names and faces. Kinda feel bad not knowing who someone is when they recognize you instantly.
er... I just realized I had long hair when I was on that program. Strange.

I've always been a bit like that with people from high school who see me in town. It seems others are a lot better with names and faces years later than I am.

Or not.... His doctors are on giving a live press conference and they don't think he's dead.

But FWIW - the news channels are NOT reporting this yet.
They may want to avoid misreporting. Maybe they're learning to be sure.

Someone is apparently dead and someone else is not... er confusing
To: HairOfTheDog

I think they want to try and avoid an Arafat-style dead/not dead/dead/not dead/dead fiasco.
The miner situation kind of refreshed that problem in everyone's mind.
To: ecurbh
Not sure I would trust the media even if their reporter had personally gone in and checked for a pulse...

Happy Birthday! Another year to share with your friends here. Eat some cake, have fun, and plan your nice trip.
