Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Home is behind, the world ahead
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

No kidding. It was while playing a game of 'Apples to Apples' which is a word association game. Hence a perfect thing to get out someones real impulses on.

Speaking of "ick".
I'm about to vomit after a post I just read.
Not yours, hon.

I don't, for example, trust somebody that refuses to have a drink if we're talking business after hours.Of course, there are those who are teetotalers, or can't drink for medical reasons.
To: RMDupree
Heh...I did mention a barf bag a bit ago, didn't I?
Use it wisely...
To: RosieCotton
I'm tellin' ya. I've got the heebie-jeebies from that guy.

I argued with him on the flamewar thread he's mentioned before...got called anti-American and feminist for sayin' military guys shouldn't have any more moral right to sleep around as much as they want than any other guy.
To: Lucius Cornelius Sulla
Whoops. Meant to say... yes, of course there are... I was talking about people that do drink, but won't drink and talk business.
It's a rule of thumb... not an iron-clad policy.

He's a predator of young, naive woman. Plain and simple. A "cad", I believe is the word.

Got ya a ton of profundity packed into that post.

It's the arrogance borne of insecurity. He doesn't actually understand that the women that are his own age aren't attracted to him because they have enough experience to see him coming from a mile away.
The younger women sometimes can still be fooled by arrogance pretending to be confidence.

ROTFL!! I can just imagine how much fun that game would be when playing, ahem, impaired. I impressed our older sons and their friends when we played "Apples to Apples". Picked up their game playin vibes right away! They tend to play it choosing the most inappropriate answer for the card on the table. It's a real hoot. I learned, too, that you have to 'play to' the person doing the choosing of the correct answer. If you know they are just a bit 'twisted', you can put down a card from way out in left field, and it will most likely win! It was a lot of fun!
I'm gonna have to get that game and take it to my Girl Cousins reunion this year. We've enjoyed playing Phase 10, which can get pretty brutal after a few glasses of wine. ;o), and also Balderdash, what a SCREAM!

Yeah, we generally play it vey twisted, too. ;-)
It really helps to play with a group of people you know well, though I suppose it could be a good way to get to know someone, too.
We really like Balderdash...though we generally play by taking turns with the dictionary insteada using written out words. It's a hoot, though - we've got some good bluffers in the family!
And one of these days I want to get Bunko...it's a dice game. Played it at the ice cream party the young adults group had this summer. We had a lot of fun with it!

It's the pirate code! :-)

Well, I'm still waiting for my sister to show up to pick up her son.
Sheesh. It's past 10:30 here and the poor kid has school tomorrow.
I'm gonna call it a night, folks.
Sleep well Hobbit Hole!
