The Hobbit Hole XXVI - Home is behind, the world ahead
http://freeper.the-hobbit-hole.net/ ^

Posted on 12/11/2005 8:37:40 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Home is behind, the world ahead

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

I look forward to seeing it!

Maybe I'll make a bootleg and do some creative editing. ;-)

My lab had that on her chin at one point. I don't remember exactly what it was determined to be, though...maybe a mild skin infection?

Gee, I'm helpful.

Youch.

Looks itchy and oozy. Got any of that ointment you'd use for ears around?

Panalog, etc?

Played hookey again today. Darn throat/cough/head thing just won't clear. Wrapped up today and roasted it out... feeling a little better.

Glad to hear it! (((Ramius)))

Lots of hot tea and honey should help too. Get those passages opened up and soothes the throat.

Be careful, I hear soup can lead to unexpected events.

Whoops... Sorry Jen... My mouse was malfunctioning and I clicked rapidly around the screen a couple times... then it suddenly started working again... right about the time my mouse was over "report abuse".

So, everybody, if Jen suddenly goes away on a little vacation... it was my fault.

:-)
