Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Home is behind, the world ahead
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Corin.... "must" the show, indeed, go on? Well, we didn't have any barfing angels or anything. Our troubles were mostly injury related. Lessee...
Mrs. broke her foot.
One of the principle dancers sprained her ankle and was to the ER and back in the next performance on crutches (it worked with her character in that scene).
Another principle dancer had a "reindeer wrangler" step on her ankle with his cowboy boots.
One of our kid actors got a nasty gash on his ankle during a scene the first Saturday.
Jr. had a table dropped on his foot.
And Santa hit the corner of a set piece during one of the first performances. He went on, but it was lookin' pretty nasty by yesterday. He was going to the doctor today.
So...~our~ show went on.
But I spent a lot of time singing that song from Moulin Rouge when Nicole Kidman is dying...
Outside the dawn is breaking
On the stage that holds
Our final destiny
The show must go on
The show must go on
And then she dies...

Might have done the same, but I might have...ahem...
sung "branches"* first.
*Can we add this to the FReeper lexicon as a euphemism:
to sing "branches"=to bazooka-barf
eh?

I've had some pretty disgusting experiences with 'that which is foul' coming out of an animal, but at the moment, I can't top 2J's story.

Fercryinoutloud! Does your show have insurance?
To: RMDupree
Or "why did you make me ride something called the 'Rainbow Chunderful Express Whirligig'? Did you want me to sing 'branches' on your khakis?"

Can we move threads again? Because I think this one is going to be condemned as unsanitary any minute now.

Well, I'll tell ya...in every case where something like this happened to me, it usually embarrassed the patient terribly and it usually made me feel terrible for them. It taught me to be very careful with how I reacted, to react professionally.
Steve just called...he's on his way home. I gotta log off and try to get the living room spiffed up!
Night all!

Well, we've all got a pretty good ~life~ insurance policy. ;-)
This year was worse for injuries for some reason. Some years it's the flu. But this year they literally bought cases of hand sanitizer and had bottles located all over the place.
