Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Home is behind, the world ahead
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Heh heh! ;-)
I made spaghetti, with my homemade spaghetti sauce that Matthew (and amazingly the rest of the family) loves. I put a big glop of ricotta cheese on top of Matthew's and he said "It looks like whipped cream for spaghetti!"
I hope I can mention whipped cream in the same conversation with you and the words rope and drill.

Wasn't there a movie in the last 20 years or so that included a guy very seriously listing some vey necessary supplies including Silly Putty, bubbles-- lots of bubbles-- and, I don't know...a drill, three coconuts, and a length of yellow silk...those weren't in the list, but that's kind of the idea...

The jedis have one-gallon water jugs that they are jumping on and shooting the lids clear cross the living room. Then they blow the jug back up, put the lid back on and jump on them again!
This will all end in tears, I just know it. Someone's gonna have their eye put out by that projectile lid. Likely me.

Aaack! Don't do that! You'll rub it off, and then where will you be? And don't come crying to me....

Are you talking about The JerK (Steve Martin)?
"I don't need this or this. Just this ashtray. And this paddle game, the ashtray and the paddle game and that's all I need. And this remote control. The ashtray, the paddle game, and the remote control, and that's all I need. And these matches. The ashtray, and these matches, and the remote control and the paddle ball. And this lamp. The ashtray, this paddle game and the remote control and the lamp and that's all I need... and my dog. GRRRRRR OK, I don't need my dog."

I've also started freezing dinners...getting them ready for Steve to just pull out and warm up for the jedis. Tonight's spaghetti leftovers went into the deep freeze. I'm going to every time I have leftovers.
I'm going to make a batch of meat balls and some burger patties. Maybe some grilled chicken breasts. All cooked. All easy to just warm up and eat.
Steve's a better cook than I am, but it's hard when you're by yourself and especially if you're not really used to it!

Evenin'. Suicide seems drastic - or is the rope for removal of the causes of your problems?

Evenin' everyone.
Loooong day. Didn't get home until after 7:30pm. :-(
I do have a funny story about Becky to tell, but it's mildly gross so I'm debating.
