Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Home is behind, the world ahead
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I might have bought the last of the last issue of
Snow White on DVD.
It begs a frame-by-frame viewing, particularly during the transformation sequence.

I gots Sleeping Beauty!
It's taking some time, but I'm slowly replacing my VHS tapes with DVDs. Some I won't bother replacing - like Pocahontas.
Nobody really watches it and I don't think they'll watch it more often on DVD.

Heh...my brothers immediately dubbed that one "Poke and Haunt Us", and Dad wanted to know what her seamstress' problem was.
But I'd like pretty much all the old ones. I don't have ANY on DVD. Somethin' wrong there.
To: Ramius

Don't have it yet. :-(
It's one of the best.
I like Peg, the sassy Pekingese.

My girls seem a bit bored with the classic Disney films, but I just love them.
Although, Becky does enjoy Alice in Wonderland.

Well, I've got my HOHOHO. At Fred Meyer, I picked myself up a bona fide red Santa hat. Gonna wear it to the office tomorrow. :-)

I love the expression on Lady's face...

You know, I want to say yes, but I can't remember if it was in Lady & The Tramp or some other doggy movie.

I'm sure you will remember loving something as a small child, being bored or otherwise turned off by it in later childhood/teens, and "rediscovering" it in adulthood. So it was for me with, among others,
Rudolf the Red-Nosed Reindeer.
So it will be with yours.
While I am no expert, and have zip professional training, I have been priviledged to observe and interact with many children at various stages of life, and have come to certain conclusions of which the above is one.
Since I have thus far (not of my own choice) remained a childless bachelor, I wonder what on Earth God has for me to do with such knowledge. It's getting rawther late to be a father.

I wants it too. But I don't think it'll happen any time soon.
Maybe our grandkids will get the chance when PC finally burns out and generations come full circle.

When you go to Europe. It's too un-PC for this country.

We had a record with the story (stories?) and songs. Dunno that I've ever seen it on even audio tape. Silly, IMO.
After all...we bought tapes of old Bugs Bunny cartoons that were way less PC...
To: RosieCotton
Same way most movie clubs work.
You get a bunch of movies for a cheap price and then you have to buy 3 more over the course of a couple years (usually at 21.95 a pop, plus shipping).
They automatically send you their Feature Selection once a month, but you can go online and opt out of it.
I used to be in both Columbia House and Disney, but now I just stick with Disney since they let me know when classics are being re-released and I can get them delivered before they hit stores.
