Home is behind, the world ahead, |
How depressing!
We still have flurries coming down. Miss Cat is curled up in my laptop case.
*Sigh* That's what's wrong with Uncle Billy...he's a squirrel lover.
Morning OT - Watched it last night, that movie sure has stood the test of time.
Morning Hair - Way to go Homer. How is Homer's chin?
Morning!
How did Gypsygirl like her walk this morning?
Oh son.... for that you traded your ever lastin' soul?
Homer's chin's lookin' real good, dryin' right up.
He was barkin' and I saw the little bugger's shadow run off through the back forty...
She'll get one a bit a later, LSA threw the squeeky toy a few times and is filling the bird feeders. The 'broken' bird bath heater has decided to start working again, as soon as we bought a new one. sigh.
Got Albert Finney's Scrooge to watch tonight. Kind of a toss up, I like George C. Scott's version as well, if not better. Then of course, there is always 'Scrooged'. That one is pretty good as well.
I like the 30's version of Scrooge.
Dunno what I'm watching tonight. Someone's showing Godfathers back to back today. Got lost of MST3K to watch.
Bedford Falls has turned into Sin City.
Re: Homer's chin, that is most excellent news.
How is your 'headache from hades'? subsided, departed, taking up permanent residence?
Bird bath heater? Wow... purdy nice!
After breakfast here I'll just be pourin' some hot water on mine.
Horses got a hot mash and hot water hauled to their buckets this morning. :~D
Headache's gone... it lasted a good 3 days though :~\
Yup, the heater is pretty nice to have, we have a resident herd of birds that winter in the globe yews. Gypsygirl thoroughly enjoys periodically (okay, daily) rousting out the birds. She sticks her head in the bush and then watches the birds fly out the top.
There isn't much open water around here in winter so lots of birds pass by to drink. Our mourning doves are year round residents, they winter under the front porch. For a city lot, we gots the birds, bunnies, at OT's favorite - Squirrels. :-)
*Sniff*
I love a happy ending.
Watching the end of it last night, I couldn't help but think of that SNL skit where the townspeople were screaming "Potter did it! Get Potter" and preceded to beat the everloving cr-p out of him. I had to laugh. LSA
Yep! And that's the local paper. I still read the on-line articles daily...I read this before seeing it on FR.
We have some good folks back in the Northeast Kingdom...but I got really sick of arguing with the "Vermont should be given to Canada" type folks whenever there's a positive article. *sigh*
I got woken up again at midnight, but it wasn't as bad. I fell asleep again.
I *will* call if it is really bad again.
First test of the sourdough starter: making flapjacks for lunch/brunch in about an hour here, provided the batter rises. If that works well, I may make bread tomorrow, depending on how fast I can make more starter. Dunno.
Snowing again, on and off. Not a lot, but it looked a little slick on the way to church...I'll say again, I'm flabbergasted at the local plowing policies.
No snow here. We had a weird Christmas thing. Apparently nobody in my family read the announcements last week and we meant to show up at the 9:30 service but it turned out to be the Christmas cantata. And it was just plain bad.
I am not sure I like this new church they're going to, but whatever. And since I didn't get to sit through a regular service, who knows.
