Besides sniping at the remarkably successful 12-step strategy Maybe they read the US Bureau of the Census study on how the long-term success rate of AA is no better than no treatment at all.

The Census asks people about AA? Why?

When are these liberal "artists"/"entertainers" going to use Mohammad and the Koran in thier parodies or are they going to let Islam silence their free speech?

My husband told me the next morning that the show was basically going after AA and the belief that alcholism was a "disease" permitting the alcholic to have no responsibility for his actions. Thank you. After all of these posts I was beginning to think that I was the only one that actually understood the plot.

You know, I've learned something today..
...it's OK to make fun of Islam, Mormons, Jews, crippled people, gays, Paris Hilton, liberals, hippies, Babs, bill clinton, george bush, scientologists, and tom cruse- but it's never ok to make fun of people who worship a bleeding statue..
Yea, no more bleeding statues.

They've portrayed Saddam as being Satan's gay lover too many times to count!

And your point is...there is something wrong with being shocked, outraged, and offended when one's religion is publicly profaned for sport?
By contrast, it seems to me that liberals act shocked, outraged, and offended when their on-the-record interview quotes are replayed...or when they are exposed to the ten commandments or a nativity scene on public property.
Somehow, I do not expect you to recognize the difference.

"Still, I'm proud that the Freepers, unlike arrogant liberals, understand that the first line of action is to change the channel. If we were all DU'ers (who hate the show because of the moonbat-idoleology-bashing), we'd be demanding that Parker and Stone be sued and the show taken off the air."
Unless South Park dared to say "Happy Holidays!", rather than "Merry Christmas!". Then we'd be demanding for gov't intervention to stop that outrageous act!!

"It's potty humor..."
And its blasphemy for Protestants and Catholics. But laughs are all-important for American couch potatoes. Even the best of "wholesome" television still leads our citizens to be passive spectators of life rather than doers.
But back to potty humor I no longer allow my children to watch Saturday morning kiddie television as scatological jokes have become the constant cheap laugh. Here at Fort Benning, many infantry soldiers use better language than some kid show characters.

Isn't there an old saying, "Don't get into a fight with someone who buys ink by the barrel"? It applys to journalists, but maybe it applies here, too.

* To Muslims it is very important never to make any pictorial representations of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). It is therefore very upsetting for Muslim viewers that in this programme Muhammad (pbuh) was drawn in cartoon form, with a face and speaking role. The cartoon portrayed Muhammad in a ridiculous and offensive manner. He carried a rifle and amongst other things was made to fly around shooting fire from his fingers at a statue brought to life. From an email that was making the rounds a while back. Here's aSource.

True, but they apologized by making Barbara Streisand out to be a maniacal, giant Mecha-Godzilla-like robot.

*giggles* yeah. . .but I have to say that for anyone to say that haven't slammed muslims. . .well. . yeah they have.
Maybe not as much in South Park -- but Team America -- wow.
Now I'm sitting here giggling and wondering where my copy of it is.

While AA is successful, I thought the portrayal of the dad when he "learned" he had a disease was hilarious and in many cased right on. That was hilarious. Stan goes to the AA meeting and tells them that "you told my Dad that he has a disease. You can't do that, he's a hypochondriac..."

OK, so where's the UN High Commissioner calling for restraint and an investigation, and apologies all around?
After all, if Danish newpaper cartoonists can't lampoon the Prophet, why should Southpark be able to escape UN scrutiny??
