Another reminder of why I don't watch South Park. While I recognize the value of satire, South Park generally takes it to the extreme, and I don't find it amusing.
That said, they can do as they wish. I just won't watch the program.
South Park ping
You must have missed the pedophile priest episode.
Or the Terry Schiavo spoof where God sends two angels to get the doctors to pull the plug on one character in a Persistant Vegetative State so that he can lead the battle against Satan invading Heaven. Of course the Devil sends his demons to make sure that the character remains on life support. Aired the week Teri Schaivo died.
Ouch!
Why do you watch stuff, that you know is going to offend you, and make you mad?
At its worst, it was career suicide.
What did this "season" bring? Five new episodes? Six maybe? I don't remember any of them, to be honest. And if all this franchise can produce is half a dozen efforts a year, then it's not worth watching anymore.
I know, but it was gross with the food up the butt stuff. I caught it on a rerun and watched it. The first time I saw it, I caught it when they started crapping out their mouths, so I missed why they were doing it, and just switched because it was too weird, over the top. The second time when I watched from the beginning, it was more in context and made sense. You can't catch these shows in the middle and expect to follow it.
Now I sit me down in school
Where praying is against the rule
For this great nation under God
Finds mention of Him very odd.
If Scripture now the class recites,
It violates the Bill of Rights.
And anytime my head I bow
Becomes a Federal matter now.
Our hair can be purple, orange or green,
That's no offense; it's a freedom scene.
The law is specific, the law is precise.
Prayers spoken aloud are a serious vice.
For praying in a public hall
Might offend someone with no faith at all
In silence alone we must meditate,
God's name is prohibited by the state.
We're allowed to cuss and dress like freaks,
And pierce our noses, tongues and cheeks.
They've outlawed guns, but FIRST the Bible.
To quote the Good Book makes me liable.
We can elect a pregnant Senior Queen,
And the 'unwed daddy,' our Senior King.
It's "inappropriate" to teach right from wrong,
We're taught that such "judgments" do not belong.
We can get our condoms and birth controls,
Study witchcraft, vampires and totem poles.
But the Ten Commandments are not allowed,
No word of God must reach this crowd.
It's scary here I must confess,
When chaos reigns the school's a mess.
So, Lord, this silent plea I make:
Should I be shot; My soul please take!
Amen
Saw an interview with them recently, where they were asked who they enjoyed mocking more. Their reply: Liberals, because they take themselves more seriously and believe no one should make fun of them. They scream louder when they're stuck. (paraphrasing here)
Yes
Bingo. Some people cannot tell the difference.

They have done some "Jew" episodes. I liked the one where Kyle goes to yeshiva because he thinks John Edward was channeling his grandmother.
They also did a spoof of "Schindler's List"
But don't forget the episode where they really make fun of the Mormons - where they describe the origins of the Mormon religion and sing "dumb, dumb, dumb" in the background. You only notice it when one woman questions the religion with some obvious observations and the singing changes to "smart, smart, smart."
And they aren't Christians.
You don't know him very well then. He most certainly has a sense of humor and listens carefully to all sides of a discussion. He won't be persuaded by lame arguments, though. Neither was his predecessor. The problem with JPII was that he was not big on governance.
Southpark just might flush the Koran. I hope they do.
Start trashing?????
They've taken pot shots at the Catholic church many times... between the sex with boys episode, to the the Pope being portrayed as a blathering idiot, to the congregation chanting "DENVER BRONCOS" in the middle of mass on a football Sunday.
They use offensive comedy, and take pot shots at EVERYONE... as a Catholic, I don't get worked up when they take a pot shot at the religion, in fact, often I laugh pretty hard over some of them. Some I find in poor taste, but that goes for nearly every episode of the show.
Lets face it, if you haven't figured out after 8 years of watching a show about 8 year old foul mouthed boys that its going to offend folks... you haven't been paying attention.
No you can't! I just love how they always get their messages in in a way that is so unexpected, so funny. I hope that it sinks in for some younger adults.
That being said, I do sometimes watch the show saying "That ain't right!" and sorta cringing. ANd as much as people say they insult everyone equally, they bash lefties and liberals much more than anyone else.
Couldn't happen to a nicer cult, either.
It was the latter. Most of us have poked fun at the propensity of a segment of the catholic population who see "miracles" in things that most of us consider quite ordinary. There's a shrine to a tortilla in New Mexico that miraculously has the face of Jesus on it.
If one is inclined to believe in such things, then the episode was certainly offensive. If one believes that these "miracles" are a bit of an embarrassment and rather ridiculous, then the episode was right on target. It had nothing to do with Mary herself, just these so-called miracles.
