Given that the mozilla corporation released FireFox 1.5 today I thought I would ask freepers:

What is your favorite firefox entension and how does it help your experience on FreeRepublic or elsewhere on the internet.

I like the Soviet plug-in where you have to think in Russian to fire the missile.

Ad-Block without a doubt. I can remove any image that offends me or I just don't want to see. I can remove all images from particular sites (doubleclick, etc), and I never have nasty, flashing, banner ads.

Makes surfing pleasant again.

I would have to say image zoom would be my favorite many times wanting to read a sign in the background of an image posted here (or read a scanned news article) and its a quick right click to do it..

I use one that backs up my bookmarks each day. I forget what it's called but after Firefox mysteriously disappeared my bookmarks not once but twice - POOF! GONE! - I don't leave home without it.

No.. it wasn't the new profile thing. They were simply gone and an empty, default file was in it's place. I searched my entire system both times to see if it somehow got moved but it was simply gone.

After reading on the various FF forums, I found that this has happened to others though no one has been able to nail down the cause.

Very aggravating though.. I love my precious bookmarks :)

Since the purpose of using Firefox is to increase security, I don't use any plugins with it. If I want bells and whistles, I'll use another browser.

Tab Mix Plus, but I already told you about that one. The 0.3 beta versions are excellent, even for betas.

Adblock Plus (with the Filterset.G definitions), Sage, Download Manager Tweak, FasterFox, and NoScript are all great as well.

There's a difference between a plugin and an extension. Flash is a plugin, Adblock is an extension.
