"Dad? Is that you?"

Wow! Over 50 responses within 10 minutes. First of all I am a woman. Middle aged. I have never really liked rock and roll. I have never been to a rock concert in my life. In fact it has never entered my mind to go to one. I never purchased any rock music, even when I was in my 20's. Boy do I sound like a nerd! But I swear I am not one!! Oh and I don't like country and western either. Yikes! Maybe I am a nerd!

As for the music I do like; classical of course, music from the Middle Ages, polyphony, chant, boys choirs. I also like Doo-Wop and some Motown. I like movie scores like Out of Africa. I love most of the work of the movie music composer, John Williams.

I never could and never will appreciate rock and roll.

EXCEPT!!! 2 songs by Queen.

Bohemian Rapsody and We Will Rock You (or is it called We are the Champions) Those are great songs because they have range. And they actually have good singing voices.

Nerds are cool now. My 11 year old son even likes to admit to being a nerd. Lately he seems to be going out of his way to prove it at times. LOL!
My 8 year old daughter's favorite music is classical. I remember when we in a Taco Bell when she was two she sat there rocking out to classical music that was being played.
BTW, here's a great musician. He calls his style adult contemporary, but if you like classical, I know you will like him . WOuld really like to know what you think.

BR is a very good song, but "We Will Rock You" is perhaps the most annoying song in world history. .....partly because it's played in nearly every sports venue in the country about 50x/game.
