Blogspot tech questions: How to send an RSS feed, and how to attach a graphic to a link

I received a graphic from CentCom to put on my blog, Marathon Pundit.

An army specialist sent it to me for my blog. I don't know how to use it as a button to put in on my blog.

Also, a blog serving as a clearinghouse of sorts for Illinois bloggers is looking for an RSS feed to put on their blog?

Any FReepers know how to do this? I'm using Blogger.com

I don't quite understand your question - the part about "how to use it as a button to put in on my blog" went right past me.

A clickable image (an image that has a link embedded in it) is a combination of two HTML tags. It would look like this:

<a href="http://www.URL-of-page-you-want-embedded.com"><img src="http://www.location-of-graphic.com"></a>

Is that what you meant? Making an actual "button" on a webpage is something entirely...well...just different but more involved.

Thanks for your reply. I have the graphic, it's on my hard drive. In short, intead of clicking on a text link, such as I have now on my blog, on a couple of links I'd like the picture to be the the "click through."

About the RSS feed. You might check out www.podOmatic.com. It's free to podcast from there. I have my podcast setup there. You get a free page and once you get your podcast made you can sign up to have it included on iTunes podcast search.

You can also copy your RSS feed and put that link on any site on the internet that you like.

My RSS link I can post anywhere on the net I want and then people with an ipod can get my music right from that link. Same thing for bloggers. Hope that helps!

Ok. Then you'll need to take one extra step. That is to upload the picture to a hosting service. The easiest and fastest is probably TinyPic.com.

That website will let you upload your picture and then will provide you the necessary HTML code string to place within your HTML string as I showed you above.
When you get to TinyPic.com, just click on the "Browse" button and browse your PC for the picture file you want to upload...then click on "Host It". Then all you do is copy the string that is shown in the "Tag" box (second one down in the list) and place it within your HTML string.

Soooo....the whole thing would look like this:

And...would wind up working like ths (Click on the picture):

I think I almost got it. I tried to shrink the graphic, from CentCom, but the click thru is wider. I'm concerned that the display may get truncated in different browsers. If you have time, take a look: Marathon Pundit

The Blog looks good. Resizing the pics to meet you needs is easy. You can make the pic any size you want by adding height and width parameters to your HTML string. Most times all you need to do is add the height setting. Just give it a number (in pixels) to go by.
Just add the part in red to your string:

Play around with different sizes until you get one that fits and then save your page and upload it.
