On the FOX and ESPN pregame shows, I keep hearing how the Giants are nothing more than a 'barometer' for the Seahawks...Bah humbug. G-Men get no respect.

Huh? I think you may have a little "us against the world" syndrome with the Giants.

On ESPN they said that the Seahawks have benefited greatly from their weak division and that playing the Giants would be a barometer for how good they really are.

How is this in any way disrespectful of the Giants?

I'm probably just a bit bitter; in my experience (which, admittedly, is not that long compared to other Giants fans; I've only been around since the Fassel era), the media pundits don't really respect the Giants, even if they are a good team. Most of the time, if they have a winning record, they treat most of the other teams as more suitable victors.

But then again, I don't live in New York (where I'm sure the local papers are more lenient), and I've been a Giants fan for only 8 years, so I don't know. But I do know that Giants fans can be a strange lot. :P

For instance, take the Corner Forum at the Big Blue Interactive Giants website...after a victory...

"WOO! GIANTS ROCK!"

After even ONE loss...

"BOO! GIANTS SUCK! WORST TEAM EVAR!"

Case in point; after the Vikings game where Eli was picked four times, some people were callig for him to be benched. :-P
