I'm probably just a bit bitter; in my experience (which, admittedly, is not that long compared to other Giants fans; I've only been around since the Fassel era), the media pundits don't really respect the Giants, even if they are a good team. Most of the time, if they have a winning record, they treat most of the other teams as more suitable victors.
But then again, I don't live in New York (where I'm sure the local papers are more lenient), and I've been a Giants fan for only 8 years, so I don't know. But I do know that Giants fans can be a strange lot. :P
For instance, take the Corner Forum at the Big Blue Interactive Giants website...after a victory...
"WOO! GIANTS ROCK!"
After even ONE loss...
"BOO! GIANTS SUCK! WORST TEAM EVAR!"
Case in point; after the Vikings game where Eli was picked four times, some people were callig for him to be benched. :-P
Well Sonic, The Giants have the chance to gain some big respect today. I know they are a good team, today we will see how good. I wish they were showing it in the DFW area.
No doubt us Cowboy fans are interested in the outcome.
This "test" is a lot like our last game.
We didnt pass imo, but only barely failed.
I wonder had the OT coin toss went our way if we would have pulled it off. We have had 4 losses by a total of 13 points!
UNNGHH!
In their 1986 Super Bowl year, their O-line was called "The Suburbanites." Exciting, eh?
