CFN Expert Picks Week 13
CFN ^ | 23 November 2005 | CFN

Posted on 11/25/2005 4:31:15 PM PST by MikefromOhio

Here are the picks of several college football dignitaries along with Clucko the Chicken. Put down two feed dishes, one representing one team and one representing another and whichever dish the chicken goes to first is the team that's going to win. You'll do just as well. (Really, the pick is a coin flip. Don't laugh; Clucko won the 2000 Bowl Pool among 24 entrants.) You can get to the Expert Picks in the above dropdown under Predictions.

The pickers: Pete Fiutak - CFN, Rich Cirminiello - CFN, Matthew Zemek - CFN, Mark Risley - CFN, John Harris - CFN, Trey Luerssen - Foxsports.com, Eric Edholm - Pro Football Weekly, Steve Greenberg - The Sporting News, Tom Dienhart - The Sporting News, Matt Hayes - The Sporting News, Todd Wright - ESPN Radio, Clucko the Chicken - KFC

Another fun week is upon us.

Sorry it's a bit late, I should have done this earlier today.

I thought Texas A&M played much better than anyone expected them too.

I'll be the first to admit it: LSU took Arkansas way too lightly, and it nearly bit'em in the arse.

yeah they did.

But it really didn't surprise me as much.

LSU was probably due for a letdown, and for some reason, Les Miles team this year seems to play closer than it really should be.

LSU remains the most overrated of the top 10 teams. Their toughest game/opponent to date remains Arizona State, who sneaked into bowl eligiblity today at 6-5 (4-4) in the Pac-10.

Nick Saban's teams had a killer instinct. If they got ahead by 10 or more, that was it. The defense would pin its ears back and blitz like the '85 Bears, and the offense would go for the jugular. Miles better instill that philosophy in LSU, and fast. Georgia's not gonna lay down if they fall behind early.

Excuse me?! Ever hear of a team named Auburn? Or Florida? Or Alabama? Don't embarrass yourself by claiming that ASU is better than any of those teams.

well that and they may not have the talent superiority in future years like they do this year.

they may not always be able to score when they need too.

Ohio State went through that from 1999 to this year. This year, they score and keep on trying to score.

I had to work today so I missed the game. Did the Aggies play well or did the Longhorn's mistakes keep them in the game?

Really tired of hearing about these teams after getting to see them play over the past couple months. The best team in the SEC, and the only SEC team that would stand a chance of beating a top team in a bowl game is Auburn, because they actually feature an offense. Florida? Alabama? Gimme a break. How about Tennessee, who Notre Dame scored 41 points on, but LSU lost to, at home. Incredibly overrated defenses all up and down the SEC, due mostly to the incredibly inept offenses and mediocre coaching.

Oh yes. That incredibly inept LSU offense that hung 35 on Arizona State, on the road, after having everything thrown up in the air following Katrina. Defenses so overrated that not a single one of the teams I mentioned gave up 42 to a mid-major like Fresno State. BTW: last I checked, that totally overrated LSU team beat Auburn.

Yeah, LSU beat Auburn after Auburn's place kicker misses 5 out of 6 makeable field goals and they go to overtime. And last year, LSU beats Oregon State (at LSU) when Oregon State misses THREE extra points in the game, and they go to overtime. And today, Arkansas's kicker misses 2 chip shots, and then their long snapper bounces one in the end zone for a safety and the 2-point margin of victory over a team that USC beat 70-17 earlier this year. And before you crow about the 35 you 'hung' on Arizona State, don't forgot that two of those touchdowns were on botched kicking situations as well, and you still needed a bobbled Hail Mary non-catch on 4th down to win in the last minute in a game you were getting dominated and giving up 600 yards. Katrina, my ass. LSU is the most overrated of all the top ten teams, and teams like Ohio State, Virginia Tech, Notre Dame, Penn State, UCLA, and Miami even, would beat them handily.

Never have gotten over USC not going to the Sugar Bowl two years ago, have you? How dare LSU pass them in the BcS computers! Bad LSU!!! Bad! Bad! Bad!

Texas AM played really well in the first half and made too many mistakes in the second half, two big turnovers that cost them a shot at winning. Texas was a little flat but got it together and did what needed to win.
The LSU/Arkansas was really good, at least what I watched.
Nebraska walloped Colorado, who could have won the Big 12 North with a win.
We got Wisconsin at Hawaii coming up on ESPN/HD....not familiar with Hawaii this year, hope it is a good game.

We (Me and Friends Watching the game)Thought we were really going to be trounced...but the guys put together a complete game..the fact that we beat Colorado in their house is just icing on the cake...

We started downhill at Colorado and we hope this is the start of the climb.....

Yah...its about time. If Taylor and the offense couldv'e played like that all year, they would be in the hunt. The blackshirt defense has always been there. I think the cornhuskers will be rated next year.
