Have long wanted a space to ask a question. Or, sometimes, questions. Perhaps today, I can be forgiven for indulging myself and posting this vanity piece.
My question is: Wasn't there a time in our history, when people generally abided by and went by the rules of their respective religion, and if so, what happened to the belief that it is immoral and wrong to take one's own life?
To committ suicide, in other words.
Why has the world at large just seemed to accept and even help promote the idea or ideology, that it is okay to take out your ownself, and even better, to take a few or as many as possible (mostly unwilling participants, I presume) other people along with them?
You say, what? I say, if the world news agencies and leaders changed their tone a little, and did not offer the words/excuses "militants" "insurgents" "militiamen", and so on, then we might see some slowing down of what has become popular and lucrative for the promoters of same.
From this the "social gospel"has arisen. It discounts salvation of the soul by faith in Jesus and His blood shed on the cross and substitutes it with a faith in the good works of man endeavoring to provide for the poor, which in our modern society is based on confiscation of resources by government.
To committ suicide, in other words.
didn't Juda jang himself after turning in Jesus?
