I've seen flame wars in regards to DB's I know alot of people are hard core postgre and supposedly it does benchmark better than MySQL for many task..

That's interesting, I've barely even heard of Postgre. I've used pretty much every popular DB at one time or another, but never had a call for that particular one. That's probably because I haven't done any Solaris work before.
