There was one tree there.
Now it's gone.

Ruidoso, NM is beautiful this time of year. Lots of trees and snow, perfect for Christmas trees. I miss the place.

There's a whole ton of varieties. The Christmas tree is an Engleman Spruce. We also have pinion pines, ponderosa pines, firs, rocky mountain junipers, alligator junipers....

An large-sized tree, the Engelmann spruce grows 35 to 45 metres high, and has a life span of 300 years.
The Englemann spruce grows best on high-moisture sites. It is intolerant of long hot and dry periods, and it prefers limy or loamy-sand types of soils.
A fine tree.
