FARIBAULT, Minn. -- You know those hooks in bathroom stalls?
They're meant for coats, not guns.
Authorities in Faribault, Minn., report a man accidentally shot in himself in the bathroom at a gun show.
Police Sgt. Richard Larson said the man suffered a hand wound as he was taking his gun off the hook in a bathroom stall.
The 59-year-old victim was treated and released from a local hospital Sunday.
The gun show took place at the National Guard Armory.

Just bustin' your chops! Happy Thanksgiving!
Could you say he was just shootin' the sh*t?
#8 - ROTFLMAO!!!
"Ssshshhshshhhhhh, stop, stop, stop, ssssshhhh"
Oh, man, the poor guy. Imagine being in the stall next to him!
glock was the first thought that went thru my mind when i saw this. couple detroit cops have made this mistake.
"What kind of idiot hangs their gun on a hook"
Gun store and gun range operators to name two. A loaded gun - well? ;-)
Well, now that you say that, I have seen guns hanging on hooks at some stores. I haven't seen it at the gun ranges though. Not a loaded gun, I'm sure.
At the Washington Arms Collectors gun shows here in WA state, they now require all weapons be unloaded and semi-autos be zip-tied open.

Glock owners can also appreciate the cop with the M1911. He forgot to apply the safety after an earlier confrontation. Of course, that grip safety just makes it safer, right?
Goes to the john, weapon cocked and unlocked. Finger nowhere near the trigger, he places it on the hook, unintentionally depressing the grip safety. Bumps weapon, weapon bounces up and down against the hook, emptying the entire mag into the ceiling in less than a second.
We won't speak of DA revolvers with the hammer left cocked (usually a holdever from bad weapons-handling learned from bad movies and TV shows).
A basic law of Nature says if you put anything inside the trigger guard, the weapon will prove itself to be loaded, and will discharge.

Amen.
Doctors performed an emergency bathroom-ectomy at a local hospital.
Yep, all guns are loaded.
Thanks Tom. I'm out of state on a borrowed puter today, just checking in.
