TAMPA, FL - Park officials at Busch Gardens in Tampa welcomed a new addition Monday; the first gorilla in the park's history was born.
The little bundle's 33-year-old mom, Kishina, experienced medical problems while giving birh to the baby gorilla Friday. So the baby was delivered by caesarean section.
The father is 9-year-old Cenzoo, a western lowland gorilla.
Busch Gardens is now home to seven gorillas.

He's adorable! Of course, I love gorillas. I could sit for hours and just watch them.

A baby gorilla would be fun to own but when he gets older...uh-oh!

The ones that are really cute are orangutangs. I was taking pics of a young orangutang at a zoo once and the orangutang then imitated me holding and clicking my camera.

Apes have always been the most fun animals to watch at zoos. Perhaps they seem so human in many of their facial expressions.

The SF Zoo had one that was a hoot. He would play hide and seek with you. He would put a food bucket on his head and spy on you through a hole. If you said "peek a boo" and put your hands over your eyes he would play with you.

back in the 50's and 60's the St. Louis zoo had the most famous gorilla in the U.S. next to king kong.
Phil the gorilla. his carcus was stuffed and on display to this day at the zoo.
