Which commonly used weapons in Iraq do our brave soldiers give the thumbs up to and which do they thumb their nose at? Here is a review.
Even though I've been pretty much out of The Jawa Report loop for the past month or so, I do get a ton of e-mails daily. From time to time I get an e-mail worthy of sharing with you. This is one. It was forwarded by a reader in the Navy, Mike, who in turn got it from a friend of his in the Marines. You may have seen it making the rounds already. The review of the weapons are one recently returned Marine's opinion [name removed to protect his identity] and does not necessarily mean a consensus has formed. If you scroll to the end you'll also see an assessment of our enemiy's capability as well as those of our allies.
As the son and grandson of two very fine Marines, let me wish all those fighting in Iraq all the best and God speed in a final victory over the enemies of the United States of America.

Because it is the source of information. By allowing them to have access to it, we can just listen in and read their mail and they are exposing themselves with every call and keystroke.

Let Freedom Ring,
Yeah, this one has been around the 'net for a while now, and attributed differently with each interation.
Fun for this sort of bar-room conversation, though... $;-)
i've seeen this a number of times now, and it has been thoroughly torn apart everytime. a couple of the models are wrong, the failures/ mafunctions are complaints that have been around for years. and 6lb body armour? don't think so.
he does get it right on that some of the best weapons technology is the oldest.
No argument there. I'm just pointing out it's a 'net creation, like those bogus George Carlin rants. Usually, I agree with the bogus George Carlin rants too. I'm just saying it's a net phenomenon, for folks to put false attribution onto their own rants, to give them more credibility. Whether the author claims to be George Carlin, or "my nephew in Iraq."
Not surprising that the 45 would be favorably viewed in that environment. Penetrating power of the 9mm isn't needed against adversaries not likely to be wearing clothing or equipment that would be a much of a barrier and since we can't use hollowpoints.
Yup, no agenda here.
Feedback on the performance of the USMC's recently adopted 20" M16A4 is uniformly positive, and interest in both the XM8 and 6.8SPC continues to diminish.
Article has a mixture of truth and fiction, like most good urban legends.
