This forum is to help us get through the offseason by posting news, silly season rumors and anything else devoted to Nascar.
AAA and Roush Racing are revving their engines up for an exciting 2006 season with driver Mark Martin. The #6 AAA Ford Fusion has transformed their look with a new sponsor and paint scheme for the 2006 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup season. AAA joins the Roush Racing stable of driving talent with an optimistic aim to claim the NEXTEL Cup championship. AAA, as primary sponsor of the #6 racing team, exudes a showy red and blue paint scheme with the official AAA logo heading up the hood of the racecar.
glad he's done with phizer
It is a good looking car.
That's a good lookin' paint scheme!
Maybe it apeals to me cause it has light undertones of a valvoline car he drove years ago...
I saw it also and the shot of the top and hood is awesome. I hope they don't clutter it up too much...
That's an ALL AMERICAN paint job. Got my approval!
Go Mark!
I love that car Pete!! In a way it seems like it was meant to be that he race one more year. He came so close last year to winning a few more races, so I look for really good things from him.

Steve - From your post on the other thread re: Matt flying his own plane, I also heard Jr bought Smoke's chopper. I'm not sure about that [haven't seen it in print], but the reason I put them together here is that I just have this fear of all the drivers flying everywhere on all this various equipment. I hope they keep them in good condition and think we should have a prayer for all of them having to do that to get places quicker because of us the fans for the most part.
Now back to that "C" group bunch. What the heck was Yahoo thinking? FrontRowJoe didn't do anything to get in "B". I can see Mears going, but he does have a new car and crewchief this year. Oh well, there's always Boris!
Another round of Daytona testing will begin today.......
Drivers expected to test this week are: Joe Nemechek, Clint Bowyer, Jeff Green, Kurt Busch, Kyle Busch, Mark Martin, Denny Hamlin, Sterling Marlin, J.J. Yeley, Dave Blaney, Brian Vickers, Jamie McMurray, Kevin Harvick, Greg Biffle, Casey Mears, Kyle Petty, Brent Sherman, Michael Waltrip, Carl Edwards, Paul Tracy/Robby Gordon, Travis Kvapil, Scott Riggs, Dale Jarrett and Mike Wallace.
There will again be new team/driver combinations here this week who will concentrate less on speed perhaps and more on learning how to work together.
Hey, we got four and a half drops already and it's still dripping! Hope you got more.
I heard Sterling Marlin was fast car today and McMary did well. Also saw pics of Smokes flip flop in the midget.
On my way home it was pouring buckets so you couldn't see the road for about two miles then nothing!! The wind was blowing hard, I was just praying we didn't get lightening.
How come you guys didn't watch 24!!!! Fabulous show.
Shrub was fastest in the morning run, I haven't caught up yet on PM times.
I fixed my TV so it only receives Speed and the local weather...
Thanks TB, was one of those days and I never had a chance to check on speeds.
Did watch 24 and am having a hard time with the Clinton replica playing the President.
Elgorro on now, time to change the channel!
I guess having nearly everybody max out on Front Row Joe caused Yahoo to put him in the "B" category. He also averaged the 5th-highest points last year among the 2006 "B" drivers (and 12 points more than the next-highest "regular C" driver, Kyle Petty). I am surprised they didn't move Crash down to "C" though.
Ouch...
I have never seen a thread on FR other than 9-11 & maybe Katrina move so fast as the 24 does. GRRRRR is even doing screen caps, it's almost like a race. I can't post and watch that at the same time though, I would miss stuff I'm sure.
The weatherman said after than bit of rain the fire watch is back on after an hour of drying out, it's just horrible.
Our well problem was because the water table is so low. I used to much trying to water down the back area and the automatic shutoff kicked in when it went below the safe level or the pump would burn out I guess.
I figured they would move Crash down to "C". Speaking of "C" drovers, here's one that's got a full-time ride.
Williams Co., Of America, Inc.
CONOVER, N.C. With backing from Christian businessmen nationwide, Victory Motorsports will field driver Morgan Shepherd on the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series for the entire 2006 season. The announcement was made Monday by Tony and Brian Mullet, two businessmen and brothers from Ohio, who are leading the effort.
This is a tremendously exciting time for me as a race car driver but is also tremendously exciting because of the possibilities in spreading the Gospel, said Shepherd, 64, who is becoming the oldest full-time driver in NASCAR Nextel Cup Series history. Shepherd has dedicated his career, as well as his life, to spreading the Gospel and the salvation story. He has competed in a car emblazoned with Racing With Jesus.
Shepherd is testing in Daytona Beach, Fla., through Wednesday, preparing for the Daytona 500 in February. Doug George is the crew chief of the #89 Dodge, and the team will be using Joey Arrington engines.
