Well, I know any *ANY* Nascar news will show up here. In the meanwhile, I'm concerning myself with burning some cow ribs. Nice night for it.

I'll be out back. Ping loud!

I was sound asleep!!! You are eating a little late?

We are still eating Roast Beast from Saturday. Tomorrow we will have Dungeness Crap from the SF bay area. Our season is delayed by Fish & Game until the First. Poor fishermen get screwed again.

The Truck Awards were on a couple of days ago but my Shrink told me I couldn't watch by myself...

Dakar rally stuff on OLN starts New Years day! Their coverage should be a hell of a lot better than last years crappy coverage. I spennt a lot of time chewing off the program directors ear. I'll leave a link here to my live thread.

Crash Gordon will be running his own car this year.

I've been tempted to replace my system with another self build (v6.0)

The new stuff out there is so cool! SATA hard drives, 1 gig memery sticks, duel DVI display cards, 1 gig ethernet, the list goes on!

But, like you, I should for now just reformat the hard drives and reload everything and move on.

Gonna be in Houston 5-6-06, somethin' special goin' on that weekend.

I'm not into the self build thing, way over my head. But I'm learnin'! Was irritated enough to buy another Dell on Christmas Day, but I couldn't get online to order one.LOL

What's happening in May, the race is in April, also in Dallas, err Ft. worth?

I will have to look for the times on the following days. Seems they always put this at odd times of the day/night. At least we have some kind of racing. :)

Link has pics of KK's new car for 06--looks like Crash Gordon's paint scheme to me. And, a nice story on Smoke at the Chili Bowl.

Do we need to reset the countdown clock after Daytona for you?

I'm making progress according to my analyst. He says my goal is to limited my hits on this thread to 8 a day. Not quite there yet but I'm giving it my best shot...

Hit #1. :)

NASCAR's stars make the best designated drivers
December 28, 2005

Which athlete would you want as your designated driver this New Year's Eve?

I'm still pondering that one. I'm pretty sure that I'd go with a NASCAR driver. But apparently I'm in the minority. Dale Earnhardt Jr. got only 27 percent of the vote in an Anheuser-Busch survey asking people who they'd like to have as their designated driver. The survey was part of designated driver awareness week December 11-16. I somehow think December 25-31 might be a better time to raise awareness about the value of designating a driver, but it was good to know that 72 percent of American adults have been or have used a designated driver.

But back to Dale Earnhardt Jr. -- I can't believe he lost out to Katie Couric *[YUCK] and George Clooney *[DOUBLE YUCK]. The same survey respondents picked a Hummer as the vehicle, and I guess anyone driving a tank would be safe. At least Junior beat Mariah Carey (18 percent) and Tom Cruise (13 percent). Even among a field of all celebrities, not just athletes, I'd still go with someone who drives professionally. And I think I'd have to pick Matt Kenseth. He's not only a good enough driver to bring home the Cup Series title, he's also a pretty mellow guy. You don't want a hothead behind the wheel for you -- especially on a holiday when all the amateurs are out on the roads. Certainly not Dale Jarrett, who pretty much blew his chances at the Chase in 2005 when he ran into Ryan Newman. And I don't want a rookie, either. Jeff Gordon might be a good choice -- he seems to have a lot of luck when it comes to avoiding pileups on the big ovals. But I'm still going with Kenseth. We could kill time in a traffic jam talking about the Packers.

Alas, the only professional driver I'll have as a chauffeur this New Year's Eve is a cab driver. It's still not a bad option.

I'd take Kurt Busch. There is no way he would touch a drop now and drive.

*WCG comments! I don't need to add who I would pick and even though I like Hummers I would take the red sleigh. <:) Happy New Year
