GM and Ford are in a serious financial hurt. I believe there will be pressure put on them to curtail spending on some Racin sponsorship. Why did Chrysler back off in the trucks?

The official word is that they're concentrating in Cup. Whether that's really the case is anybody's guess.

"They must have forgotten to put antifreeze in it and it froze up..."I hadn't thought about that. I guess they need a winter pitcrew!! :-)

Wouldn't have happened if they'd have stayed out of NEW YORK CITY!
We were chilly last night, but no freeze and no rain.

In his first public comments since being criticized by NASCAR for failing to attend the year-ending Awards Gala, four-time Cup champ Jeff Gordon fired back Friday, saying NASCAR gave its blessing for Gordon to skip the dinner at New Yorks Waldorf-Astoria so he could compete in an all-star race in Paris the following day.

One other little tidbit from the Busch banquet last night which by the way will be televised at midnight Tuesday night I think. I will ping when I find out for sure.
So, according to the pictures [which are all hogged by Getty and cannot be posted] Jr has his left arm in a cast!! :(

BTW...I tuned in to Speed just before 2 pm here and caught some results for Thunder Roadsters at Concord and my FRiend Ryan Zeck finished 2nd by 10 points. I don't know if it was the points race or the race of the day?
There have been 21 T/Roadsters sold here in Eureka so far... :o)

And when the conflict came up, I talked to the higher-ups in NASCAR, and they told me, Hey, we understand. Youve got a commitment and you cant be here this year.NASCAR has said in the future it may consider sanctioning drivers such as Gordon, Earnhardt, Kasey Kahne and Elliott Sadler, who each failed to attend this years Gala. Penalties could include forfeiture of their season-ending bonus money.
This is bogus.
I DO have problems with this however: I feel like theyre asking a bit much out of the drivers when they already have a 38-week schedule

Truex, DEI honored at Busch awards banquet
By Dave Rodman, NASCAR.COM
December 10, 2005
02:10 PM EST (19:10 GMT)
ORLANDO, Fla. -- A short ride for Chance 2 Motorsports in the NASCAR Busch Series -- including only two full seasons -- came to a close Friday night with a second championship celebration.
Martin Truex Jr. was honored as the Busch Series' fifth back-to-back champion at its 24th annual awards banquet, held for the fourth consecutive year in the Tuscan Ballroom at the Portofino Bay Hotel on the grounds of Universal Studios Orlando, before a crowd of more than 500.
"This definitely doesn't get any easier, even if it is the second time," Truex said. "A lot of things have happened to me in the last two years. Joining a new team in a new series, learning to become a winner and learning to be a champion.
"When I look back it amazes me how all these things could happen to someone so quickly [but] it makes me realize how fortunate I am and how much I appreciate all the opportunities I've had throughout my life."
Next season the driver, crew chief Kevin Manion and Chance 2's personnel will fold into their parent organization, Dale Earnhardt Incorporated, where Truex will drive the No. 1 Chevrolet as a teammate to Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Chance 2 was formed, in large part, to give Earnhardt Jr. a taste of team ownership. Previously, driving for DEI he'd recorded back-to-back Busch Series championships in 1998-99 -- becoming the fifth driver to win multiple Busch titles.
Last year Earnhardt spoke to the banquet and shared the head table in his role as co-owner of the team with stepmother Teresa Earnhardt, but Friday night, with his left forearm in a cast after undergoing a minor surgical procedure earlier that day, he spent a low-key evening at a front-row table with some of his team members.
I found out he had a calcium deposit removed from his wrist.
