Those don't look like the California happy cows.
If it's in California though, they can use the cowpool lane. :)
Thank you, thank you, I'm here all week!!

Are you still remodeling the bathrooms?
Holdaying, yes I can identify with that. We put up lights for two days straight!! Also, finished up the second tree today as well. There may be a mini-Jr tree in the works too. lol

Thanks for breaking it down for me like that. I didnt realize that each race had such a huge difference in prize money. Still seems odd to have one race worth so $ and others worth pretty much nothing.

By far the biggest chunk of each race's purse comes from the track itself. Since the Daytona 500 is essentially NASCAR's Super Bowl (it's the only race where the winner loses the car for a year), and by far the most-popular race (actually 2 races; one of the two Gatorade Duel 150 qualifying races and the Daytona 500 itself), it can offer much more than any other race.

Eddie D'Hondt, who is the General Manager for RYR, was just on XM talking to Claire about Slugger Labbe coming onboard as crew chief for the 88 and 38 and he told her that Todd Parrot had left but that he didn't feel it was right to talk about it right now.
Seems odd to me since DJ was running pretty good the last half. Wonder what's up????

H/T -
Jayski - PRN's reporting that the #77 has shut down after Kodak pulled out. The history of this rumor - Jayski started it 11/16, retracted it 11/17, my local paint-catcher reported that Kodak signed an extension 11/18, and now the PRN 11/29 story.
Also from Jayski (file this under "who cares") - The luckiest guy in 1990 (Derrike Cope) will do the full season in the McGlynn ride; McGlynn lies about the number of Cup starts (they claim 400+, Jayski counts 399)

Works for me.
More Jayski silliness -
- Smoke says bye to Fat Tony, buying $17,000 worth of excercise equipment and talking about hiring a nutritionist.
- Latest rumor on the Cup TV deal - Fox/FX get 13 races (plus the Shootout/Open/Challenge), ESPN and TNT each get 6, and ABC gets 11. Official details expected today.
- More Yates news - the #90 Busch team will be full-time next year after getting screwed out of the guaranteed start for the first 5 races of 2006 (despite being 30th in points, they only attempted 23 of 35 races in 2005 and thus have to qualify their way in until at least Bristol).Candyman does 16, development drivers Stephen Leicht and Matt McCall split the other 17, and a Belgian driver will do the road courses (Mexico City and Watkins Glen) in a second entry. No word on the Busch crew chief as Todd Parrott's departure is official.
Throwing out some more Busch news from
BGNRacing -
- Driver changes (since Homestead's starting lineup) - Kim Crosby's gone from Keith Coleman Racing along with sponsors Golden Flake Snack Foods and Bourdreaux's Buttpaste, Jason Keller's at the #1 Phoenix Racing Dodge (no word on whether he'll also drive the #09 Cup car fielded by James Finch), Mark Green's found a home at the #4 Biagi Brothers, the #5 Hendrick will become essentially an all-Buschwhacker team (other than Adrian Fernandez, that is, with everybody except Jeff Gordon doing time in the car), John Andretti slides into the #10 ppc Racing Ford, Aric Almirola will split time with JJ Yeley in the #18 Gibbs Chevy, Ron Hornaday will do 13 races in the Harvick #33 Busch car (also, his truck will run the #33 as Happy hands the #6 to Roush and Mark Martin), Regan Smith's in Keller's old ride (the #35 Rensi), Billy Wease will split time with Ryan Newman in the #39 Penske, Johnny Sauter goes to the #44 (perhaps the #00) Haas CNC ride (no more Labonte involvement as the rumor is that Terry Labonte is running his own team with son Justin), Jamie McMurray got permission from Ford to run the "companion" races for Rusty Wallace (unusual because RWI runs Dodges and Jamie's new team runs Fords - Stephen Wallace will run the stand-alone events), and Burney Lamar takes Harvick's 2nd Busch team (#77, a change from the #183) full-time.
- Current Australian V8 Supercar champ Marcos Ambrose will be driving a truck for Wood Brothers/JTG Racing (formerly the ST Motorsports in Busch), and Kyle Krisloff (was one of the Hendrick development drivers in the #5) will drive the Ballew #15 truck full-time next year.
- Kenny Wallace has a new crew chief - Randy Cox (last seen at Ganassi helping David Stremme, also some time at DEI).
- On the Roush Busch Series front, Matt Kenseth will run about 20 races in the #17, Greg Biffle about 20 races in the #16 (no word on whether Wade Day will relinquish the actual number or Roush will need to take a 3-digit one), Martin will do 5-6 in the #6, and Carl Edwards (#60) and Todd Kluever (#06) will do full-season runs.
- Want to buy a Busch Series team? Jay Robinson Racing (#49/#28, no guaranteed starts for the first 5 races unless you get Steve Grissom to come back and a more-recent Busch champ doesn't need a champ's provisional) goes on the auction block Friday and Saturday, December 9-10. Randy MacDonald has put MacDonald Motorsports (#72/#271; again, no guaranteed starts until at least Bristol) on the selling block as well.

Thanks for the updates. I was just coming over to post the TV deals announcement today. I wonder if the impound rule will survive considering all the money at stake?

More from Jayski.....
AND Robert Yates Racing GM Eddie D'Hondt told Sirius Satellite Radio's "Sirius Speedway" that Todd Parrott is no longer with RYR. D'Hondt said, "It was a very diffcult decision to make, and it was made with a heavy heart, but we can't be sitting on our hands. We need to get both cars in the Chase next season, and to do tht, some changes had to be made." D'Hondt said new crewchiefs "Slugger" Labbe and Tommy Baldwin are already on the job, and that the team has a full testing schedule between now and the end of the year.
AND II: heard that many of the engineering staff was released in this reorganization.(12-1-2005)
